Thinking about making a Manzanos booking?
Manzanos (from the Spanish manzano – apple) is a Latin American restaurant with a disdain for London’s hyper-glamorous places and stripped back minimalism. In its place is an altogether more homely affair, all bright colours, flowers and warm lighting. Against this backdrop, Trafalgar Road’s Manzanos serves up some of Greenwich’s finest fiery favourites from Columbia. From sea bass specials with fried cassava, plantain and wine to the pork rib rack in the chef’s special sauce (costilla de cerdo en español) the short main menu is an excellent introduction to Latin American dining.
While the dinner offerings should be enough for Greenwich’s Latin American fans, there’s plenty on offer to draw diners over to Manzanos during the daytime too. Find breakfast, Latinoamérica style, with chorizo, fried beans and eggs, erepa and avocado with a steaming mug of coffee (we’re still in London after all) or go for traditional Colombian pastries for a on-the-go alternative. Likewise, evening drinks offer a rare treat for south London locals hoping to sample the finest in Colombian hospitality. Find Cuban music, live from the basement and a luxe-louche feel once dinner is over. Manzanos offers a complete Columbian immersive experience, there’s good reason that diners are flocking there.
