Masa Restaurant in Harrow is one of London’s few Afghan restaurants and one we absolutely love. The restaurant is a cosy, comforting space on Headstone Drive not far at all from Harrow & Wealdstone Underground and train station, and it’s a space you’ll likely find yourself relaxing in for a wee while longer than planned. In terms of food you can expect everything from pilafs and kormas to Middle Eastern specialities like kebabs, stuffed dumplings and irresistible skewered meats. Mesa Restaurant is popular with folk from many more parts of London than just Harrow hence you’d be wise to arrive armed with an advanced reservation. Enjoy!
The Masa special is delicious with flavoursome rice, a shank of tender cooked lamb, grilled kofte, cubes of chicken, chicken wings and a reasonable side salad - as a family of four, we all tucked in to this hearty meal with some left over. We would be happy to recommend Masa to others but would advise you to book beforehand. For desert, we went to an ice-cream parlour which serves local traditional handmade Afghan ice-cream - you are able to see the proprietor making the ice-cream on site, adding cubes of ice and salt around the mixture and churning the ice-cream mixture by hand. Food was scrumptious at both places but I would dress up in layers as both restaurants are not 'comfortable' as I would like them to be (particularly in winter ).
Great food and atmosphere . Really liked trying. Dishes I had never tried before and .the service. Was. Really great and friendly they explained all the dishes
The food was delicious and fresh, and the portion sizes very good. The staff were courteous and accommodating, and got most of our large order correct.
