Micky's Steakaway

Nice meal, but both out steaks were overcooked. When you go to a steak house, you expect them to be able to cook your steak to perfection. Quite a let down. Like I say- nice meal, but won't be going back, and wouldn't recommend it to friends 😕

Was not what we expected. Was small but very cosy and can only imagine how full it gets on a weekend. Excellent food. We will be returning :)

Food was nice quiet on the night we went so no atmosphere Waitress did a lot of puffing and blowing which was very of putting

Did not have salmon steak which I wanted, expensive, small portion. Will not go again. For the price you pay you do not get much at all, quite unhappy really.

Great service and great food. The staff looked after us very well and the food was fantastic. Lovely little place. I will happily return to this restaurant.

A very loud party on the top floor and I could hardly hear myself think. Diet coke was flat with no fizz at all. And waited for over 20 minutes for the server to take our food order. Left after waiting for half an hour. Staff at the bar were apologetic but not a good first impression.

The restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was very friendly and not snobby at all, I can't go into places where I feel I am being stared at or judged. But this was an all over friendly and pleasant place to eat. X. Will definitely be returning. 5-10- 15 . 20 stars and more. Thank you to everyone at mickys. Needs advertising more so that more people can enjoy such a wonderful experience. X X X.

Fab meal and great atmosphere. The steaks never disappoint! The only fault for me is if you didn’t want chips but wanted a jacket potato or sweet potato fries instead, you cannot upgrade for an additional price, you pay the extra regardless so I ended up having chips and sweet potato fries.

Great little place, with really friendly staff. Steak was lovely and cooked just how we asked for it. The only negative would be the amount of extras that comes with the steak. Chips, peas, grilled tomato, 2 onion rings, mushrooms and salad was a little too much! Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends though.

Great restaurant. Fantastic steaks and brilliant prices. And you can double up any steak if you like big steaks. Loved the apple and caramel cobbler!

Food was average. Service was slow. Reasonably priced but wouldn’t return. Good location however many other eating establishments close by to try. More like a home cooked meal

Nice staff...food was very nice...room was a bit chilly so could do with being a bit warmer but other than that very nice and clean with good background music....will definitely be going again.

Fantastic well worth the visit. Great staff great atmosphere and most of all fantastic food had the fillet steak and was cooked to perfection, size portions was great not to big and not too small just right, even got free desert great service.

Food was delicious, freshly cooked and good value for money. The menu is a bit small, but is good if you are a big meat eater (obvious when going to a steak house). The only thing that was a little disappointing was the waitresses, they did their job but need to improve on their manners and the way they present themselves when talking to customers.

We were booked at 8:30 on a Saturday night and were surprised at how few people were dining. However, we were greeted very pleasantly and shown upstairs to our table. We thought the décor was very nice and the USB sockets in the plug socket is a good touch if required. 80's music was playing at just the right level so as to allow you to talk at normal volume. The sirloin steak and spare ribs were off the menu as apparently they'd had a very busy day, but it wasn't an issue as there was plenty of option on the menu. We ordered a kopparberg and a soft drink (free refill on the soft drink) while we decided on food. We ordered some BBQ wings each for starters and for main course I ordered 8oz sirloin and my partner ordered the 8oz rump but asked for salad instead of the usual accompaniments. We both doubled up on the meat as they do an optional price for this extra. Food arrived relatively swiftly and the wings were fantastic. Well presented and with a little pot of BBQ sauce. We couldn't fault the wings at all. No fat, skin cooked just right and a good amount of meat on the bone. Onto the mains. We ordered medium rare and got exactly what we asked for. My partner's steak came sliced on an ample bed of salad. Mine with chips, peas, onion rings. They don't load the plate too much but there was enough. My steak was absolutely delicious. Not a single scrap of fat on either of them. A lot of restaurants are afraid to cook medium rare properly. This meat almost melts in your mouth. A little pot of peppercorn sauce on the side for me too. We both polished the lot off and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. I'm so glad we found this place. For anyone dining quite late, we parked at the back of the Pure Gym on the Poundland carpark for free. You're not supposed to but I'm a member of the gym and park there every night I go to the gym without bother. If you get done it's not my fault! We will definitely (and defiantly) go again to Mickey's and I will be recommending to my work colleagues. Superb find.

Great atmosphere in this small quirky steak house Reasonably priced good sized portions, big thumbs up and we will definitely go back. Small free car park at the front or wharf car park next door that's free after 6pm

Good food but service was a bit slow. The restaurant was a bit warm in the current hot weather. Limited sweets selection was quite disappointing.

We had a lovely evening at Mickys Steakaway. The food was excellent, great quality and cooked really well. Also, the staff were very attentive and the price was reasonable. We will definitely be back again!

Hi, had an absolutely fantastic experience for my husband's birthday, everything was perfect, the food was delicious and the waitress couldn't do enough to help! My husband hadn't visited before, but will definitely be going back. Definitely a hidden gem!

Second time we have been to Micky's started off with cocktails both very nice! Waitress was helpful in advising what was on the menu and what drinks to have. I had rib eye and my husband had the T bone steak both were cooked as we liked and were delicious. We would definitely eat here again and we have already recommended it to friends who have also enjoyed it:)

Fantastic service, great food, brilliant little find, can't find any fault with it really, I imagine it gets busy quite quickly on busy nights, but it is well worth booking ahead for.

Slightly more expensive than other restaurants close by, but my husband and I both had a very nice steak and didn't mind paying a little bit extra. The downside was the windows were very drafty and I had to sit there with my coat over my shoulders.

Decent enough food,but nothing to write home about or to make you come here again. Service was excellent and prompt,in a quirky restaurant in an accessible location.

The restaurant was very good & clean. The food was excellent, my brother said it was the best steak he'd ever had! (T-bone). All 4 meals were great infact. The waitress was fantastic also - very friendly & welcoming. We will definately go again.
