Fairly traditional but excellent French cooking. Good service. Good bistro-style ambience. Reasonable prices (£40 - £50 with plenty of decent wine). Dishes tried and enjoyed: moules, cured salmon, rillettes plate, artichoke melt, venison, bouillabaisse, surf & turf (a la Francais). One particular positive is that, although this is a mid-priced French restaurant, with well-chosen mid-priced wines (around £25 - £35), there are also a couple of finer bottles on the list (£45 - £60) should one be so disposed; I find this is often lacking in small diners when they are sourced from a single supplier.

We had a very enjoyable dinner here a few months ago, but our New Year's Eve dinner was not nearly as good. We were rushed through the meal(7pm reservation, finishing before 8:30), our main course (venison) was overcooked, the sides were average and the dessert (rum baba) was cold and hard. I'm sure it was just an issue of service on such a busy evening, but it was disappointing. I would go back on a regular evening, but not on a fixed menu night like this again.
