Given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, many authorities are placing restrictions on social gatherings. In the best interest of everyone’s safety, we are continuously updating the availability of our partner restaurants to reflect these measures. We encourage people to still support the restaurant industry in other ways.Learn how
Experience the flavours of the Savannah right here in Cheltenham at Monroe's, an South African restaurant found on Albion Street in the town centre. A haven for those with an appetite for adventure, just some of the exotic specialities you’ll find on the menu at Monroe’s include deep-fried crocodile ‘cigar’ for starters, and mains like goat potjie (a goat stew with Cape Malay rice, served with a cabbage and mango salad with saffron dressing) and bunny chow (a loaf of bread hollowed out and filled with sweet potato, chickpeas and tomato with light curry spices and minted yoghurt). A favourite among local foodies, spaces at Monroe’s can fill up quickly, so guarantee a table by making a reservation in advance!
Lovely typical Zimbabwean food served with the "silver service" standard so typical of Zimbabwe, where customer service is simply superb. The Buffalo, croc and Springbok offered is worth trying, its all delicious. If you want something different for a change, and are adventurous with unusual but fabulous exciting gin types, this is the place for you. The whole visit was a lovely experience on all levels. We all revelled in it and will be back!
