Moonlight Bar and Restaurant

The Moonlight Bar and Restaurant was CLOSED when we got there. We booked in October. It ruined our New Years Eve and our short break in Southend.

Food was really tasty. Nice bar. The only negative thing was the Menu. Not a typical Indian menu. Not sure if this is a regional thing

We visited as a group of six and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Two of our group arrived 30 minutes late, but the restaurant was quiet with only two other diners, so service should not have been an issue. Even so, it took 10 minutes just to get drinks and another 20 minutes before anyone came to take our food order. When the mains eventually arrived, they didn’t all come together. One friend received his rice but had to wait 25 minutes for his curry to turn up, while another friend’s main never arrived at all — after 45 minutes we told them to forget it. My wife’s chicken biryani was burnt, cold, and completely lacking in flavour, so she didn’t eat it. The staff were polite enough, but the service was slow, disorganised, and the food quality poor. Sadly, we wouldn’t return or recommend based on this experience.
