East Sheen isn’t exactly overwhelmed by great Middle Eastern eateries. Actually, this corner of west London suffers with a pretty serious shortage of places doing really good food from this flavoursome part of the world. Fortunate then, that Namo Persian Kitchen chose to set up shop on Upper Richmond Road, bringing together the food of the Middle East and with a particular emphasis on the delicate grilled meats that are the cornerstone of Persian cooking.
The team behind Namo Persian Kitchen first decided it was time to open up to the world (or at least the world of East Sheen) when they realised that the food they were making at home was simply too good not to share. This homemade love is the thread that runs through everything that the team do here. So while the rest of London is concentrating on getting as many covers as possible through their evening sittings, the Namo team at focussed on giving their guests an excellent Middle Eastern dining experience – you should expect to spend the whole evening when you pay this Upper Richmond Road favourite a visit.
Persian food, and indeed food from across the Middle East, is what makes Namo Persian Kitchen so special. The menu at Namo is unafraid to mix things up – there’s hummus and halloumi as well as avocado salads and spicy, roasted meats on offer here. The team refrain from frying as much as possible to keep their food is nutritious and good for the calorie-conscious, and they endeavour to ensure that their food reflects the aromatic and fragrant dishes that underpins the cooking in the region. London’s Upper Richmond Road is all the richer for the addition of Namo Persian Kitchen; we recommend you book a table though, as this dinky dining room fills up regularly.
We love Namo - the food is gorgeous with something to suit everyone. We've tried most things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We eat out a lot but this is the only restaurant that we return to again and again. Great value too.
Namo restaurant is a very pleasant place to go for a nice meal and offers a good selection of drinks to accompany the meal. One is not rushed and allowed to relax and enjoy the evening.
Wonderfully genuine Persian food - no corners cut. My husband is Iranian and very discerning. Flavourful stews, fluffy rice and juicy skewers. Warmly recommended to families - children love this kind of food.
