Think of Portuguese cuisine and the first thing that may spring to your mind is Nandos, but Napura is showing Londoners that the culinary delights of Portugal extend way beyond piri-piri chicken. With a sleek and stylish interior as well as an outdoor patio area, Nunhead’s Napura is the perfect place for a special meal or romantic date. Using recipes passed down from the owner’s Portuguese mother, Napura serves up home-style dishes that are full of love, passion and flavour. Portugal is famous for its vineyards, so don’t leave Napura without trying some fine Portuguese wine. Located on Nunhead Green, Napura draws in diners from all over London – guarantee a table by booking in advance!
Napura is understated, elegant and wholesome, with a concept of providing quality and authentic Portuguese dishes to London – and it’s passing with flying colours. Nestled in Nunhead, Napura showcases the very best of Portuguese cuisine. Kick things off with chouriço assado (chargrilled chorizo); gambas salteadas (sauteed king prawns) and lulas à Sevilhana (calamari), which are all ideal for preparing your tastebuds for the main event to follow.
Napura is privy to an extensive mains list featuring dishes from burgers with all the trimmings, chargrilled meats including steak, chicken and pork, loads of fresh seafood – as you would expect – and several vegetarian options. We love sinking our teeth into the slow-cooked lamb shank served with potatoes and shallots; sauteed pork, clams and prawns served with veggie rice and bacalhau tricolor of cod served with diced potatoes and mixed bell peppers. Though to be honest, no matter what you decide to go for, this London favourite will satisfy you to no end. You’ll find Napura on Nunhead Green in Nunhead. Just be sure to book in advance as they tend to fill up quickly.
A fantastic meal, started with the Tiger Prawns, followed by Bacalhau with melted cheese on. Absolutely fantastic. Spent a lot of time in Portugal and it’s as good as many authentic restaurants I’ve eaten in there. Make sure you have a Portuguese red wine to wash it down. Well worth a visit.
Very nice people, great atmosphere and the finest food, but most of all: you feel welcome as a guest and these guys will do all they can to make you feel great!!!
Beautiful, family owned restaurant. The food was to die for and the experience was awesome! We loved the vinho verde and the rissoles were delicious, as was everything tbh.
