Good service good drinks good atmosphere. Will deffo visit again

Waited 25 minutes for a drink, sitting outside, not good.

The service was good and staff couldn’t be any more accommodating and polite. Our dining experience started with a dirty knife, which was covered in what looked to be chunky dried egg yolk, which I highlighted to staff and was exchanged immediately with an apology. Also, we were dining in the library which was very bizarre sitting at a table which is much higher than the seating, which makes it very difficult to eat a meal- perfect for drinks/snacks only, however not ideal for dining. The cocktails were amazing! Cannot fault them at all with their mixology, the taste, flavours and look of them were fab! Unfortunately, it was the food which let Okana down. We ordered the 5 tapas dishes; nachos, potatas bravas, bruschetta, 2x arracinhi. The food arrived barely warm. Also, the bruschetta stated on the menu it was ciabatta (which is generally used with bruschetta dishes), however, it was a plain white slice of bread which had been barely toasted- very disappointing considering this dish would have cost me £5.95 if I had not ordered it as part of the 5-dish deal. The potatas bravas were almost cold when they arrived, again, without the lime alioli which is within the description on the menu. The arracinhi were very tasty and a good serving however, barely warm which is was a shame. On a plus side, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the nachos- good serving and good amount of dips on the top. I would definitely recommend Okana for drinks and cocktails and friendly staff who are very accommodating. Unfortunately, whilst the food is at the standard it is at present, and different to the description on the menu, I would personally choose to have tapas elsewhere in Newcastle.

Booked table for 12 o'clock and food did not arrive to are table till 1.30pm there was not vegetarian option for Sunday lunch. I payed £19 for a plate of vegetables and cheesecake and a beer. We spent £100 between the 3 of us .. we have a very bad experience. Their even said sorry we're preparing vegetables it 20mi that was at 1pm.. I wouldn't recommend at all

Had to wait 10 minutes to get in even tho had a booking , waited 30+ minutes for a drink also only managed to have 1 drink with how long it was taking ! Very bad service.

Very disappointed with the service to the point my husband and I left as we were taken to a table out the back where there were only a few tables. We asked if we could sit out front in sun to be told we’d have to wait even though we had a booking!

Arrived on time for a table at 7:30pm took 30mins for someone to take our drinks order and that was after having to go and find someone to take it!! Took another tens mins to arrive, the daiquiri was flavourless only tasted of ice!!! Complained and said that it would be sorted after waiting another ten minutes managed to find another staff member to say we’d now been there an hour and the 3 other friends had now finished their drinks and that we were still waiting for something to do with our drinks !!! Finally changed our drinks and gave us a bottle of Prosecco but was too little too late !!! Terrible customer service won’t be going back!!!!

From start to finish the experience was shocking. Arrived for our table at 8pm where we had to wait as the previous guests were still sat drinking. Then after 5/10 minutes we showed ourselves to the table. There were barely any waitresses/waiters and one we asked didn’t know what app the bar was using and another said she would come back, 10 minutes later we were still waiting. By this time it was 8:20pm and we hadn’t had our order taken. I approached the manager to ask when I would be served and I was spoken to in a rude and aggressive manner. The bouncer too raising his voice telling me it’s because they are busy. As a guest that is not my problem. Hire enough staff to cater for your many bookings. Train your managers in customer service and how to speak to people properly. Out of all the places I have been so far since lockdown was lifted this was the worst I have experienced to date. I suggest you do not take bookings consecutively after another as guests are stood around waiting for others to finish up. I hope this service has improved by the time I come back in 2 weeks to celebrate a friends 30th Birthday.

Nout but GOOD VIBES! I have nothing bad to say about Okana, the cocktails were absolutely lush, favourite of the table being the Monster! Added bonus of 50% off, everyone was lush from the bouncers to the management walking round making sure everyone was having a good time, can’t wait to see how this place progresses this year! We didn’t have food but the table next to us had a feast and every plate looked fab, shall be back to try! X

Lovely drinks area outside but we ordered food, took over an hour and we watched our food given to the wrong table. Server was very apologetic and gave us a full refund and said we would still get our food, but we had waited a long time before we got it and the dishes we originally ordered they no longer had. Was moved inside later on in the evening and told that it was table service only, but there were no servers around, tried to order at the bar but was told to wait at our table. By the time someone took our order we ordered 6 cocktails-one for each member Of the table. When they finally came only 5 arrived, I mentioned this and was told that I had only ordered 5 and that was the correct amount, even though the server went round each individual at the table to take their order. Feel overall it was very unorganised

We booked a table in advance. We arrived slightly early and were directed to room at the back of the building. The chairs looked iron but were plastic. The floor had a fee leaves on it and at that time we were the only customers in the room. The staff were friendly but would have preffered a room with more atmosphere .

Drinks only! Feel sorry for the server as she was the only one serving the area and she really needed help. Warm terrace! Definitely recommend! Lovely staff 🥰

The service was absolutely shocking. Although 2 members of staff did apologise right at the end but it took 40 mins for our drinks to come each time so we had to order 2 at a time. The food came pretty quick. And the doorman was rude to nearly every single customer, he was picky as to who he was letting in too... when 9/10 the people weren’t drunk, or in big groups etc... food was tasty and yes I would return but the service needs improving!

We sat as 4 but made two orders for food. The two that were with us ordered after us and they got theirs first. Ours came out 25 minutes later as they were originally given to a different table. The manager apologised and gave us a free drink but then the drinks took 20 minutes to come to the table when they were ordered. Very unorganised

Overall experience was great. One of the staff assumed we didn’t book at first but was quickly cleared up and we had a great night. Will visit again.

Service seemed slow, it was 20 minutes before a drinks order was taken from us, when a table opposite was seated, served and had drinks within10 minutes.

The drinks was fab the only thing was the service and how long it took for someone to come over to the table to take our orders, we waited 15 mins before someone took our order. May be a good idea to have an app where you can order your own drinks? Apart from that everything else was great. It is such a lovely bar
