It’s an inviting, rather relaxing village public house in the centre of Wittersham where the menu has been put together with love and the bar is spot on. But enough mumbo jumbo. No pie is processed at Oxney Wittersham. Every single one is crafted by hand and filled to the brim. From steak & ale to root vegetable, they are proper. Like, properly proper, and no person should ponder passing on the chance to eat one.
Now burgers. Slightly less British but just as brilliant, folk of Wittersham flock to Oxney Gourmet Pie & Burger Bar to get involved with them. 100% prime Scottish beef is used to ensure the patties don’t shrivel up and die when they’re being fried, and Oxney Wittersham offer classic variations as well as showstoppers that will probably be difficult to finish and are definitely too big. Still, you’d be a fool to say no to the challenge because they taste exquisite. There are also internationally-inspired burgers: Tuscan, Korean, Mexican, the list goes on, as well as other mains, Sunday roasts and plenty for the kids.
