Waiter did not understand when trying to order pineapple juice then made a face when he eventually knew what we were asking for (it is on the menu!) Ordered fish cakes which were tasteless and the only fitting description is rubber (these were refunded but doesn't take away from the disappointment) Order chicken curry... £16.80 and didn't come with rice! it was extremely watery, the large chicken pieces were hard and whilst only having a spoon and fork eating it became very difficult. Scallops - fine line when cooking scallops but unfortunately these were slightly undercooked. With the refund in place we left £50 lighter still hungry and extremely disappointed.
The restaurant was very pleasant the decorations were new the staff very agréable smiling and attentionné ! Not too crowded and the food was excellent as usual. It is the best restaurant of its kind !
the ambience is really nice along. The food was also proper thai. The service was very fast and excellent. Altogether a good experience and time spent.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was incredibly attentive. Really enjoyed the evening, would highly recommend and will definitely be going back again.
It was top notch. Happened to be day of Thai king's death, so front of house was more subdued than the artistic plates coming out of the kitchen. Next visit (we will!) They should be up to speed.
I took my friends from out of town to Patara, and we had an unbelievably good experience here. Out waiter was friendly and humourous. He recommended some entrees to us and made jokes and made us roar with laughter the entire night. The atmosphere at Patara is warm and unpretentious, and although the food was a tad on the small side, it was delicious. Highly recommended :)
Im sorry to say that the food was below par. And VERY expensive for the portion sizes. Scallops, a delicate food and tricky to get the cooking time right on, were just 3...yes 3, and they were swimming in milky red hot spices. Wine by the glass was way over priced. As for the cost of mineral : Daylight robbery. Last time I went there, on one of the hottest days of the year, the air con wasnt working. I remember when it was an excellent Thai restaurant called S&P. I had one starter shared, two main courses between myself and my daughter and myself, a glass of decent white wine, and one pudding. Oh and a bottle of water. The Bill with service : Just under a £100. I wont be going back.
I've been going to this restaurant many times over the years and it is always perfect. Very good food, high quality and professional service. Really recommended!
took three first time patrons with me, they all loved it! Service was excellent, and food quality was as well. Glad I made a reservation as it filled up quickly.
My husband,my son and I came to lunch at Patara on Sunday; the food was very good and service excellent; we would recommend this restaurant and we will be back
Excellent food. Probably the best Thai restaurant in the SW1, SW3, SW7, SW10, SW5 area.. Excellent service. Shame there is no delivery service provided by Patara
Always our favorite stop in London -- Outstanding Thai food in the heart of London. Highly recommended - the staff is always so knowledgeable and polite.
Delicious dinner, innovative menu, wonderful flavours, beautifully presented, excellent service, charming attentive staff, subtle decor, great atmosphere, perfect family evening celebrating eve of son's wedding.
Food was excellent, staff were good, polite, but not 5*, table for 2 could have done with being 6" wider to accommodate Thai buffet, 4 1/2 stars
This is a brilliant Thai restaurant. Food is well balanced and varied, staff are very friendly. Even remembered us when we went back a week later.
We visited Patara on 20 August 2016. We enjoyed a lovely meal with excellent service. I would say that the restaurant is looking quite dated now and was quite stuffy. So much so that an old pedestal stand was being used in the dining area. Other opportunities for improvement is their cocktail menu. We tried their Mojito champagne cocktail which was a big disappointing. The food was very nice, cocked quickly and bought to the table immediately however the menu could also benefit from a bit of a refresh as there was nothing too original. All in all, a nice restaurant with good food and great service but look elsewhere for an exceptional meal/evening.
The staff was lovely and accommodating. We had a toddler and a vegan in our party. The staff answered all our queries and were incredibly patient. The food as always was amazing. It is not a cheap dinner, but cannot fault the service or food. We will definitely be back!
delicious food, attentive service even when the restaurant appeared very busy. also the meals were piping hot and served on hot plates overall, a very good experience
Fantastic food and an amazing value lunch menu! This is Thai fine dining. I would particularly recommend the corn fritters and the salmon with red chuu chee sauce.
The food was a pretty bland and the restaurant was SO hot with very limited air. The service was very good though throughout the evening.
Wonderful food and good service. We celebrated my husbands b'day there and it was a great choice also to take a new visitor to London there...
Excellent quality, could work on the service, definitely one of the best Thai in town. Price in line with the location and the food. Regards
Was awful! Food was very greasy and lacked any taste. The lamb was not cooked through properly either. Would not visit again Service as good but did not make up for the food.
Food was fine, but the service was not that good. The waiting time for the main course was too long. The price is quite high.
Food good . Service crisp but not warm. Very strict last orders and at 5 minutes to 3 effectively bundled out S tod twice in space of couple of minutes athen waitress tssod over us till we stood up. All well within their prerogative but left a bit of a bitter taste to good food and what would have been nice meal
I thought I was being rushed by the unfriendly staff. After all that, the food wasn't even that great - very basic, and not very Thai.
The quality of the food was good but they supplied the wrong order for the starter and for the mains brought rice instead of noodles. Too much haste on behalf od the waiting staff as seems they want people to come and go quickly. Once we were onto deserts more than half the clients had left and staff became more relaxed. Would go back again
We went to Patara for my parents 40th wedding Anniversary. The Food was excellent and staff so lovely and attentive. We all had a Wonderful experience
It was a great experience as usual and have thoroughly enjoyed the food. Friendly staff and not so crowded today. Will definitely go back again.
We had the tasting menu which had a great variety, the drinks were good and reasonably priced and the meal in total was slightly less than anticipated. All in all a great restaurant that taste great without killing your wallet.
Great, bfriendly service. Delicious food - prawn cracker with chilli sauce, tuna carpaccio, sea bass lime sauce or bans leaf, chicken green curry. Goo wine list as well.
We had a greate dinner tonight Bering for the first time in a Patara restaurant with a delicious meal and an excellent service. Unfortunately in our home town we haven't got a Patara.
Excellent food in an intimate setting. Great vegetarian menu. We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch with friends. Courteous service and consistent quality as ever with Patara.
Very good food and service. There was a minor problem in that they delivered me the wrong bottle of wine, but besides that everything was excellent.
Buono tutto. Location cibo servizio. C'ero già stato un paio di volte e penso proprio che ci tornerò. Ideale per cena amichevole e per serata piacevole in compagnia
Terrible service and staff! The staff were more concerned about closing the kitchen than serving us and we receieved a hurried service which was quite frankly rude and unhelpful. For a lunch for 3 costing £100 it's not what I expected and in London with a million dining options I certainly won't be returning no matter how tasty the food.
Very nice beef. Excellent Thai food overall. All dishes tasted good. Would recommend overall.. Quite authentic and reasonably good value. A shame mango dessert was not available
I really enjoyed having dinner at Parara restaurant. It is one of my favourite places to eat in London. I truly recommend to anyone who likes good food. Amazing delicious food!
Above average food - fresh, tasty. Interesting menu - delicious black cod with ginger, tender roast beef with shiitake mushrooms, yummy tiger prawns curry. Sticky rice a little too super glue. Thai red wine the perfect complement.
Very good food , expensive but tasty . Quite a long wait for main course especially as restaurant was not full, got main order wrong and two members of our party had to wait again for their food
