Pepe Sale may be situated in the Centre of Reading, but as soon as you step foot inside, you are transported to the Mediterranean island of Italian Sardinia. The colourful decor and friendly smiles radiate mediterranean heat (regardless of the british weather outside). The waiters at Pepe Sale delight in sharing traditional Sardinian food with their customers, especially if they’ve never tried it before. Some of their specialities include sea bass, wild boar and a slow roasted suckling piglet, all of which have been paired to on of a fantastic range of Sardinian and Italian wines. All of their food is sourced locally to ensure freshness, meaning the changed depending on the best available produce at the market that morning. Pepe Sale offer an unforgettably authentic and delicious glimpse into Sardinian culture.
Exceptional service, I’ve been a bit deluded by the food thought. The first time I went to this restaurant I was so fulfilled. This time it looks like the quality of the food decreased. The spaghetti allo scoglio was passable compared to the first time. But we’ll try again next time...
Delicious food, friendly and prompt service. We had a lovely evening at the restaurant. Do remember to try their specials, which were seasonal and yummy (salmon ravioli in asparagus sauce, anyone?)
A return visit for us Impeccable Patron, staff, ambience and atmosphere and of course the food was delicious and well presented. Arguably one of the best restaurants in Reading.
A lovely meal again. Beautifully freshly cooked mushroom starter and smoked salmon pasta main course. Very friendly staff! My favourite Sardinian restaurant! I will be back!Thank you!
