San Lorenzo - Beamish

This is the third time we have been here, it was busier than normal which reflected in the slow service, however, the food was again very good

Good for a happy hour visit lunchtime or early evening. Service is always friendly and efficient. Lots of parties in. Wouldn't recommend for a romantic meal for 2. Starters always good, mains ok. Handy for us as walking distance.

Took my daughter for her 16th had a starter main course and a desert, still stuffed now the day after lol!!. Food was amazing and the young restaurant staff are a credit to San Lorenzo nothing was too much bother!! Will definitely be returning.

The food was lovely (I would recommend the king prawns although the portion was enormous). The staff were attentive, welcoming and very friendly. I would highly recommend it. We will be returning soon.

Firstly impressed that there was draft beer on offer. The choice of food was good and tasted excellent. The service were friendly, quick and helpful. What's not to like.

Had not been since change from Pepe's but I must say the food and service were excellent. Our little chef enjoyed making his own pizza.

We loved Pepe's and went there least once a month, but they have changed owners. You can no longer get half pasta/pizza and chips so you have a larger meal than you want and have to buy and extra portion for £3. Service is slow and had to ask for extra drinks and the bill. The ham in the carbonara was also chewy and of poor quality. The lasagna was lovely but so hot I couldn't tip it out the dish or eat it without burning myself. Don't think we will be back. And looking at how many tables were taken at 8-9pm Friday night don't think others have had a good meal either.a rev on their site previously had a snotty reply, so if you can't take constructive criticism, good luck staying open!!

Good food with plenty of choice for all tastes, including vegetarian options. Sensibly priced. Pleasant staff. Clean and fresh with a nice atmosphere. Would recommend.

Friendly helpful staff and good choice of menu. Food was good quality and well presented and the prices were reasonable. A nice atmosphere and would definitely recommend.

Very good. Food great and service polite, friendly and efficient. This was our second visit and we'll be happy to go back in the future.

Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Although the staff were cheerful enough the service was slightly sloppy. We had to ask for our menus after being seated, then after our mains plates were cleared we sat a good 10 minutes before we had to ask for a desert menu. Very average. Nothing special at all. Also the pricing was on the steep side. £50 for two starters, two pizzas, two cokes and a glass of house red.

Excellent meal service a little slow but overall really enjoyed it will return at a later date to further explore the menu yours malcolm Maughan

A lovely meal, had the early bird menu which is great value for money. 2 courses for £8.95, good choice of starters and pasta and pizza. Enjoyed the chicken liver parfait. Local to us, but if you're visiting Beamish Museum it's very close by and worth a trip.

Great food, great service. We had a great night and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was great. Love place and nice, light and airy. Definitely be back!

We had a very nice meal - the service was very good ...... car park on the other side of the road to the restaurant but not a very busy road. Enjoyed our evening ......

Excellent service and good food. My husband had the burger and I had several starters, all of which were well cooked and appetising. We believe this restaurant has changed hands recently and it is well worth trying.

We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and attentive. We all enjoyed the meal and the price was good. We will certainly return to enjoy more of the menu.

Lovely food,great service and delightful atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend. Value for money and early bird menu is definately worth turning up for. Won't be long until we return

Food was lovely however the service was very slow. If the service had been quicker I'd have gone for a 5 or 6. I didn't leave a tip due to this.

Pizzas were amazing, service was very good & staff were friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend this restaurant & we will be going again soon

Very disappointed. Food was bland. I thought the prices were expensive for where it is. Especially the kids menus, most places have offers on. You can eat in restaurants in town centres and pay less. It's a restaurant in a little village.

The manager greeted us and offered us a choice of tables ,our food was exeptional,very well presented and cooked beautiful,the staff were very pleasant as well .Easy to park in a huge carpark adjecent to the restaurant. We will definitely be returning.

Our annual birthday visit for my hubbies birthday and it didn't disappoint. The food was lovely, service was friendly and we would recommend a visit.

Me and my girlfriend had a lovely time at san lorenzo the food was top quality and hot and the service was spot on we could fault the waiting staff they were pleasent amd welcoming when we arrived for our meal

food was really nice however I was brought out the wrong main course and twice when i ordered drinks the incorrect drinks arrived at the table

We all had a great time, staff were all lovey and very attentive as usual, food and drink was flowing...good times had by all.

Lovely food as always. However the bill given to us at the end of the meal was incorrect but was sorted without any fuss. Would definitely return.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, food was good. We had the prosecco lunch which was really nice. Great quality for the price, we will return.

Everyone enjoyed their food, service was a little slow although they were friendly. I liked the new menu. No doubt we'll be going back. The kids loved making their own pizzas.

I went with my daughter and we had a super meal The very simple sounding caprese as a starter included four different coloured tomatoes. Incredible. The service was top class. The menu enabled gluten free pasta which was important to me as my daughter needs to be gluten free. Our main course was delicious. The experience was very positive.

Food was lovely and hot didn't have to wait a while for the food to come! very nice people nice place inside! Never been before! I would definitely recommend to friends and I would like to come back!

Absolutely fantastic night celebrating my daughters graduation, food great, service great and excellent value. We all struggled to make selections as there was so much in the menu we wanted to try so we'll be back again very soon.

Excellent food and service, recently been taken over by San Lorenzo which shows in the good quality of food. Have been several times and will continue to do so.

Wow - quite simply superb! Fantastic food, excellent staff, great interior and setup, literally can't wait to come back here and start working way through the menu.

Ate from the special offer menu (3 couses for £12). Service was quick and friendly, food was ok, table was a little on the small side.

The menu was a bit basic and had a few of our favourite dishes missing since the new owners took over. Service was pleasant but slow. We had a table booked in for 7:30 and didn't get out the restraunt till 9:45.That was for 5 people eating only a main and 3 having desert. Fine if your not in any hurry. The food was tasty but average and a little overpriced for what you got.

We booked on line which is an improvement from last time. We arrived on time took 25 minutes to place order which is a bit too long even though there was six of us. Food was very tasty up to usual standard. The restaurant is under new ownership and improvements have been made to the decor and environment which have made a positive impact. Well done everyone

Good makeover with good menu changes. Just need front of house to be sharper as lots of staff just need some direction to get top score.
