Pondicherry restaurant is so named after an area of Southeast India known as the French Riviera of The East. There you’ll find a fusion of European-style cuisine and traditional Indian – very much the approach at Pondicherry restaurant. Pondicherry is set within a glorious building on Waterloo Street in Ironbridge, south of Telford and exceptionally stylish once you’re seated inside. Unlike some Indian restaurants, Pondicherry aims for quality over quantity and some recommended chef’s signatures include sea bass simmered in a coastal-style curry sauce, and daal murgh yakni prepared with lots of yellow lentils. This is without question one of our favourite Indian restaurants in Ironbridge and advanced recommendations are certainly recommended.
We had a really fantastic evening. The staff were brilliant and the food was excellent! I would definitely recommend Pondicherry for that special evening out
Service was very poor. Food wasn’t much better. We got five poppadoms (didn’t order them)and the accompanying dips and onions salad the salad was warm very off putting as we had experienced a very hot day. So we didn’t really use the dips. Drinks order was very slow . Then on the bill we were charged for the poppadoms that we didn’t order. Will not be going back. We used to use it regularly when we lived in brosley. We now live in bridgnorth so we put the effort in . It’s a shame the pondercherry did not
Very pleasant venue set in an old police station (I believe the cells are downstairs but we didn't see them where we were, although I would like to!), polite and attentive staff, delicious food with generous portions. Would definitely return.
