More about the restaurant: Print House Bar & Kitchen
Heading east into London’s Stratford can be a decidedly unsavoury affair, with ominous high rises being a little off-putting. However, with the glut of post-Olympic redevelopment settling down, reclamation and excavation works tidied up, and a whole host of interesting spaces up for grabs, Print House Bar & Kitchen have taken over an old printing factory where the Three Mills Wall River flows underneath Stratford’s High Street. It’s an oasis completely removed from the urban desert that surrounds it, making use of a cobbled terrace by the riverfront – where DJs entertain come the weekend – and a chic, cosy interior. Here, eclectic sharing plates, hearty mains and a famous Sunday roast meet inventive cocktails in a relaxed, easy-going haven.

If you’re looking for cocktails, beer, wine and food out east in London’s Stratford, look no further than the glowing, 40m Strand East Tower sculpture that stands at the intersection of Stratford’s High Street and the Three Mills Wall River. It acts as a beacon, helping the hungry navigate to a hidden gem at the Tower’s foot. Safely away from the busy road, fronting a spacious cobbled terrace by the river, sits Print House Bar & Kitchen, whose founders have set up shop in an historic printing house. It’s a relaxed spot with DJs spinning out on the weekends, when signature cocktails like the very Engligh Earl Grey Martini, the Jolly Gardener, Elderflower Tom Collins and classic Cosmopolitans begin to flow.
As for the food, Print House Bar & Kitchen know their chops. And their chicken supreme – the in-house special takes pan-fried, free-range chicken and pairs it with kale and parsely colcannon, oyster mushrooms and a rich truffle cream. Just in time to keep your week afloat, it’s Tapas Tuesdays at this High Street, Stratford bar and bistro, where you can choose a free and beautifully presented small plate with any drink. Other events to check out on the post-industrial banks of London’s Three Mills Wall River are the Monday quizzes, big screen sports, and a smattering of musical guests. With a stylish, open-plan interior that can accommodate up to 130 people, with great flow out onto the terrace, the Print House Bar & Kitchen is ideal for private hire as well.
