This restaurant is amazing I love it will Defos go Back again and again lovely staff great service amazing food
A very tasty meal and excellent service. What more could you want? Thank you!
We had a late dinner (8:30) on a weeknight, after going to a film nearby. The food was excellent and the service very attentive. I had a lamb dish and my husband ordered sea bream, which we don't often have at home. Both were very tasty.
Lovely food and pleasant service. We would definitely come again.
The restaurant was fully booked and had a great atmosphere. The staff were helpful when ordering the food - full of suggestions depending on level of spice - and made great suggestions when ordering wine. The food we well presented and full of flavour - the coconut rice was an absolute winner! We didn't order pudding as we were too full but will go back to try other time.
Excellent food, and the owner is extremely hospitable. The koliji puri starter is particularly good, and not one widely seen elsewhere. Splendid value all round.
Nice place...convenient to parking. Food was good but not great in my view. I found it a bit bland. The meats were well cooked although I found both the chicken tikka and our lamb chop starter to be a bit dry and the lamb chop was quite tough. The goan fish currey (with cod) was a bit bland as was the lamb shank chef speciality (name escapes me). Overall, I would say that the restaurant is very nice and the service was attentive for the most part. The decor is modern and very pleasant so I will certainly give it one more try!
A very nice meal and environment with friendly service. Despite one of our party arriving late felt no pressure to order or move on. Would definitely come back.
Really good food, selections of wine ,quick service, but not overly friendly.
Disappointing visit which made us wonder where all the good reviews came from?
Can't fault this restaurant for food. Great menu choice, good quality and best tasting curries in the city in my opinion. Lovely modern decor. If I had to criticise, I think it would be that the tables for two are a little small, especially if you order a few side dishes.
Bombay fish curry was amazing with the seabass flavour still coming through. Best chicken tikka and onion bhajis ever!
A lovely little place on St Clement's road. It provides different and better food than your average curry house. Not your standard unidentifiable curry sauce. Lovely staff. Definitely would go again.
It was a pleasure.Great food and service. I always recommend this place.
Food was excellent and the service was 5 star. Very good value for money.
Husband loves the tom yum soup and the restaurant kindly made me a starter no longer on the menu when requested. Delicious vegetarian main meals. Spinach dhal very salty and inedible: replaced within 5 mins when we raised and not charged for. Passion-fruit sorbet really refreshing. My favourite xx
At the detriment of making it more difficult to book a table at my favourite restaurant, I owe them nothing less than a hearty commendation. Their food and service is consistently good, with lots of variety if you fancy deviating from the standard Indian restaurant fare, and the quality of ingredients and flavours of the dishes are just great!
The staff are what made the night, excellent service.comfy seating and again great service from all members of staff, they could not do enough for us on my sisters birthday.
Very good food; nice ambience. My go-to place for Indian food in Oxford.
Staff were friendly and service was fantastic. The food wasn't as described on the menu however so was a bit disappointing. For example, I ordered a 3* hot madras but it wasn't spicy at all. Maybe I should try the vindaloo next time!
The atmosphere was lovely, staff were friendly, service was (even though it was a friday evening) and the food was great and well priced. Would definitely recommend.
Food was pretty good, although one item in our order was wrong and we had to wait while the correct item was cooked. Service was ok, but a little patchy: the waiting staff could be more apparent, rather than standing out of sight behind bar. Some innovative approaches to re-imagining traditional curry house dishes. Presentation was very good, but kulfi on a warm plate is never a great idea - chill the dish for ice cream so it isn't a race to eat it before it melts :-)
Brilliant food. Nice wine and really efficient friendly service. Qumins did it again!
Possibly the worse meal I have ever had. I was led to believe it was a top Indian restaurant - the chicken starter covered in cheese suggested otherwise. This seems to be an establishment which has lost its identity - one gets the impression the aim is to fuse indian and english cooking. If that is the aim it is a massive mistake. We will definitely not be returning - it put a blot on an otherwise pleasant weekend in Oxford.
A very warm welcome was given to us when we arrived. Lovely window table which was nice to watch the world go by as we enjoyed our very taste meal!! . Will be going back again soon to try somemore of the tastie menu.
Qumins is a great restaurant, but leave me alone, Quandoo!
The food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the range of dips that accompanied the poppadoms and the coconut ice cream. Our server was also very attentive.
Food great, good value, nice atmosphere.. Unfortunately the waiter knocked over a glass of wine, apology was minimal, no awareness it had spilt on my coat and bag...
Not exceptional. Our food did not all come together and it when it did one of the parties was wrong. It was quickly put right but there was no apology. We did not think the food was particularly special, also it was quite expensive. The environment was not special either.
Excellent Indian with a varied menu. All old favourites there, alongside Southern Indian dishes with some excellent fish options. Staff really friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.
