More about the restaurant: Ristorante Veneziano
Having started life as a humble pizzeria-takeaway, Ristorante Veneziano on Birmingham’s High Street in King’s Heath has firmly established itself as the home of authentic Italian food in the Midlands. The restaurant has gone to strength to strength under the guardianship of head chef Salvatore, while the kitchen demands the highest standards from its producers so the menu adapts to what is freshly available that day, and the wine list is a homage to the vineyards of the bel paese.

Thinking about making a Ristorante Veneziano booking?
We at Quandoo love a good pizzeria – after all, pizza is in the canon of takeaway greats. Yet, what the team at Ristorante Veneziano have done in evolving their simple High Street pizza joint into one of the undisputed Italian classics in Birmingham’s King’s Heath means we’ll forgive the move away from a purely pizza-based model. The kitchen focuses on serving Italian classics like carpaccio di manzo, linguine marinara, involtini di pollo and, yes, pizze.
The pedigree of head chef Salvatore, a native of Italy’s Varese, is peerless. He spent seven years working his way through the ranks at Milan’s L’Novecento restaurant, before moving over to Paris’ Convivium as well as stints in Manchester’s San Carlos and London’s Lidia before setting at Birmingham’s Ristorante Veneziano. His experience, then, with Italian cooking, ingredients and techniques is unparalleled. The restaurant welcomes diners for dinner service Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm and for lunch or dinner from 12pm on Sunday. The dining room is small and intimate and fills up with King’s Heath’s High Street locals quickly; therefore a reservation is usually a good idea.
