Kitchen closed. Told they had phoned me to cancel. LIE. No contact by any form of communication. Will never eat at either of their restaurants again.
The staff at the Sally were more than accommodating on a busy Saturday night. We were served with our food, which was cooked well, very quickly after ordering.
Excellent food - great service - and very good value. Portion sizes were great especially enjoyed the fish and chips. Staff helpful and attentive throughout our visit
Menu not what was website,no veggie option, which having a vegan in the party, was the reason we chose here. Staff were brilliant about it, and fetched a meal from their other pub down the road, but still only to chose from.
Good basic pub food. We enjoyed Cumberland sausage and mash followed by sticky toffee pudding while watching England play Belgium in the world cup. Very friendly and helpful staff made our visit most enjoyable. Our dog was welcome too.
We enjoyed a decent pub lunch in pleasant surroundings with friendly service. They couldn't find a copy of the children's menu and had to recite it for us. One of our party had the Lakeland burger, which was under seasoned but he felt that different cheese would have done the trick - it came with mozzarella and a tasty cheddar would have improved it.
Lovely friendky pub. Excellent host and service. Good choice if lovely good value food. Views of mountains all around. Good location to walk to and from
The website states Sunday carvery, THIS IS NOT TRUE. The Sunday lunch served was fine, but DON'T expect a carvery option as the Web info is out dated..
There turned out to be no chef available that evening but they contacted us by phone and helpfully rebooked us at the Horse and Farrier across the road, where we had a very nice meal.
Very Friendly quick service and lovely food. Had the soup and fish and chips. A Lovely country pub. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.
