Leicester can make a pretty decent claim to be the best place in the UK for Indian food – they have the highest proportion of people from the Indian subcontinent of any city in the county for one – and the diversity of flavours that can be found in the curry houses and tandoori palaces of the city centre are astounding. It can be a challenge to set oneself apart, but Santhi Indian Restaurant on Granby Street have no such problems. They use recipes that bring the Malabar Coast to the heart of the East Midlands, with a South Indian menu that is heavy on the spices and on the seafood. House signatures include filled dosas and uttapams, as well as Indo-Chinese dishes such as fish 65 and chicken lollipops and a house fried rice. All the curry house classics are there, too, so the less adventurous will no go disappointed, and South Indian cuisine is naturally veggie and vegan friendly. All the more reasons to book a table and make a move to Santhi for a feast in Leicester city centre.
The best curry house I’ve ever been too! Friendly staff, excellent tasting food and generous portions. If you are staying in Leicester, it’s right in the city centre and worth a visit.
Great food and service, Set meal at 14.95 is great. One of the best locally. Very comfortable restaurant but has steep stairs down to enter.
First visit as kayal our default South Indian dining experience was full so tried santhi. I recommend it good and different choices to usual Indian
