The food is good and its a cheap night out. Ideal for work night catch ups but restaurant could do with a good clean. Staff are very friendly.

Lovely food, staff are very friendly and very helpful when it comes to choosing what food to order. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

The staff in the restaurant always make you feel very welcome. The atmosphere is always upbeat and the food is great. Excellent long-standing Indian dining with extensive menu.

Lovely food but packedas it was banquet night , which we didn’t realise when we booked! It was rather noisy but staff lovely and good service.

We had the feast special which was good value for money and manage to adjust some of the items with a bit if extra money. The side dish Tarka dall was extremely tasty the best side dish made freshly.

Food Excellent, staff helpful, will be going again. Have been to several Indian restaurants in the area and this is the best. There were two large parties due on the night so this is another positive for the Shajahan

As usual the food was brilliant. it was busy as it was a buffet night. it looked like there was just one waiter on but he was brilliant. had a lovely evening.

This is a very nice restaurant. Good food and good value. However, as we visited on a Saturday evening, the small space was very busy, limiting conversation and we were close to the kitchen door so it was a bit distracting. Our main courses also took a long time to arrive, even though some of our group had starters. The seven people present all enjoyed our meals. So, I'd definitely recommend it, but probably best to visit on a week day evening rather than the weekend.

Great food at very reasonable prices. Excellent service, polite and unhurried.The food was well cooked and full of flavour. It was not drenched in oil like some curry houses. Worth noting that it is a BYO drink restaurant, no alcohol is available on the menu.

Excellent food and good, friendly service. Very busy but that is normal! Also does a good take away always piping hot and well packed. Recommended.

The quality of the food at Shajahan on High Street in Kingsthorpe village is consistently excellent. Booking is easy and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Portion sizes are good and because they don't have an alcohol licence, taking your own drink is encouraged so the bill is always smaller than you'd usually expect!

Great food, well presented and tasted delicious. Good service, not rushed but attentive without any pressure to hurry between courses. Fantastic value and it's great you can take your own alcohol.

Even though the restaurant was busy as it was a Saturday night we didn't have to wait long for a waiter to take our order. We had a lovely meal .This restaurant is worth a visit, and how many Indian restaurants show Bollywood movies on 2 big screens not many ,this one does.

friendly staff, we came when opened 5:30 on saturday no busy. food- i had korai balti very good, generous portion enjoyed meal. there is no english menu but they coocked chicken nuggets for kids. they do not serve alcohol then you need yours. all in all good experience would go back in the future.

really enjoyable evening made very welcome not hurried at all. Infact we were there ages having a good catch up with each other.we all enjoyed ,can take your own drinks which naturally halves the bill and meal was very reasonable anyway thankyou

A busy Saturday night, so there was a delay in serving the food. Only to be expected so not a problem for us and our friends, it gave us more time to chat and relax.

We like the location of the restaurant in the old high street Kingsthorpe. The restaurant itself is comfortable and cosy. We were celebrating ones graduation and had a great time and the staff were helpful making sure we were catered for including supply a special glass for champagne. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It was a great night. Thank you.

As always a lovely meal. Took 3 people with me who had not been before. Have 3 new happy diners who have said they would come again.
