About Simla Spice

There are Indian restaurants to be found up and down the UK, and whether you’re in London, Leicester or Liverpool, you can be sure of picking up something special when you make the trip to your local curry house. Torquay may not be known as a hotbed of Indian cuisine, but they too do not miss out on the fun: they go to Simla Spice on Torwood Street. The classics of the genre are all there to be enjoyed, from the tandoori starters such as seekh kebabs and chicken tikka to fried favourites like onion bhaji and poppadoms to all the curries that the British public know and love. We’d recommend going beyond the kormas and vindaloos and picking something straight off the chef’s specials menu, such as the house signature Nawabi Piaz, diced lamb or chicken cooked over hot coals and served with an onion, vegetable and potato sauce, or the duck tikka jalfrezi, a Simla Spice twist on the Indian delicacy. Book a table and head on over for an Indian feast in Torquay.

Food excellent, service friendly and courteous, prices OK except for the frozen desserts that are overpriced. But if you go for mains and a glass of wine you will not be disappointed.
