Lovely meal, enjoyed the new menu, great service, had 2 fussy children with us and they enjoyed their kids meal, we will be back :)
The food is excellent, the staff make you feel very welcome, great atmosphere, lovely surroundings. Good value for money, no long waiting for food to be served
always excellent food and service. the team are friendly yet professional and make you feel well looked after! you must try the sharing fish platter, omg! fish pate and bacon jam is the best thing ever!
Lovely atmosphere bright and airy restaurant, friendly staff, good varied menu, food lovely, presented well will definitely be going back. Great central location in knarsborough
A really great venue. A high standard of food (you need to try the woof fish), really friendly staff and atmosphere. I will be going back there again.
Overall we enjoyed our visit to Six Poor Folk. The food was very good but service was quite slow. will go back again in the future.
Overall we enjoyed our visit to Six Poor Folk. The welcome was friendly and our table was right where we wanted it. Food was good, although my Caesar Salad was not particularly enjoyable. The rest of our party all enjoyed their food though. We will go again.
Excellent food-a really well thought out menu and good setting. Reasonably priced wine, the salt cod is fantastic! Went twice in 2 weeks, other restaurants take note!
Another great evening at Six Poor Folk in Knaresborough. The food was as ever fantastic freshly prepared local produce served in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. We loved the new additions to the menu and are looking forward to the live music this Friday evening from 8pm, Friday Night is Music Night is now a regular event.
Nice helpful staff. Food was very nice, well prepared and presented. Biggest downside was the menu was very limited and the fact that some of the items on the menu were not available even though the restaurant was very quiet didn't really help.
The flatbread was a bit hard, maybe better to use pitta bread. Service not as good as other times we have been, but think that was due to the band outside. Good idea, but not if you want to have a quiet chat with friends.
The food was fantastic. Service was a little slow but the staff were really friendly and it was pretty busy. Lovely place and atmosphere. Would go again.
Fun night out, we popped in for dinner . The food was up to Six Poor Folk's usual high standard and then stayed to listen to the band The Birdman Rallies and 6PF's resident singer Sarah Boyle. Very talented and a great evening good food, good drink and great entertainment....what more could you ask for.
Great food, great service! Really impressed with everything - child friendly so perfect for our family trip but also will definitely go back without the kids.
The food was tasty - all 3 courses, the atmosphere was good, decent service, the only negative was it was a little slow. We'd definitely go back!
We went on a Saturday night and it was really busy, the staff did seem a little flustered. I was asked if having my burger medium was OK. I said 'Yes' if only it had been it was cooked with in an inch of it's life and was pretty tasteless. My wife's steak was better and she enjoyed it. The service was pretty poor.
The food and service were exceptional. Our server couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, guiding us through the menu and explaining that the ingredients are locally sourced from award winning suppliers . And that the dishes were freshly prepared and when our food arrived we were not disappointed. It was a great experience and excellent value for money. Thankyou Six Poor Folk.
Delicious food and great service meant we had a very enjoyable meal and drinks. Six Poor Folk really is a gem conveniently situated in the heart of the picturesque market town of Knaresborough.
staff were all very friendly. the food was excellent. cocktails are lovely.
We went along for an early doors drink and dinner last Friday night, had a nice bottle of Provence Rose, a pint of Roosters Yankee, a sharing fish platter and 2 mains for less than £60. Really tasty quality food and tremendous value. At last an alternative to Carriages
I have been to restaurant number of times and always had a good meal.Had a very poor experience on this occasion in respect of the main course - The Ploughmans. Issue was that a piece of cheese was presented that you wouldn't put in a mousetrap, and the bread was woeful. However on a positive note the service that we received was fantastic and every effort was made to rectify the issue- presented with an alternative cheese. The establishment also recognised the issues when we received the bill, without any prompting. The front of house staff were very professional and made this occasion an enjoyable experience. Don't be put of using this restaurant with my negative feedback l will go again and do hope this was a one off experience.
