Sofias Italian Restaurant

Awful! We went for the Xmas meal but they said it wasn't on so we couldn't have it, the drinks were awful and expensive ( we ordered cocktails but they tasted so syrupy and no alcohol ) so we didn't even order the food! We paid bill which took 10 mins to come and when we queried it they said they were busy! There were only 4 tables of 2 people and us 4?!! It's such a shame as the building and the decoration is beautiful but the tables let it down as does the staff, the drinks and the food! It completely spoilt our Xmas night out we were too late to get in anywhere else so we ended up having a cheese and onion cob at the pub almost next door! Which was better than staying there! was ok only people in restaurant was cold Was told meal was for starter or dessert and main Had 1 portion of bread to start no balsamic vinegar to dip bread (normal in Italian resturants) When main came had ordered garlic bread as an extra were told it would be a further 5 minutes after mains came (we were only people in) Ordered 1 dessert When bill came were charged for a dessert (told not in offer we had but this was not what told at start) Also charged for service Food was ok had veg pizza but was very few items on Also no extras with main (cheese or black pepper) Staff very inexperienced but pleasant. Would not go again

We wasn't allowed to choose the two course we wanted we ask for a main and a dessert then was told we couldn't, for a two course we could only have a starter and a main..very dissatisfied. And the starter I ordered wasn't the order I had been given.

Only us 2 in the restaurant and the garlic bread and chips came 15 minutes before our food?the staff were really nice but the food was average,sofias used to be amazing and our favourite restaurant,I don't know what happened,a real shame.

the food was really good and the staff Laura and Daniella were really very good, a very good atmosphere in the restaurant would really recommend that you go to Sofia's
