Tucked away in the picturesque Stair countryside, The Stair Inn not only provides warm and hospitable accommodation for guests, but also a restaurant that is well-worth the visit. You’ll find simple, uncomplicated and delicious British and Scottish cuisine, made from quality local produce and without any fancy frills – expect good, honest fare here. Keep an eye out for the steak and ale pie made with a fluffy and crispy crust; chicken escalope served with your choice of haggis or black pudding fritters and topped with creamy peppercorn sauce or, deep-fried wholetail scampi. This restaurant and inn, in Stair’s town centre also boasts its own smokehouse and serve a life-changing smoked salmon and trout pate, you really must try! You’ll find The Stair Inn on B730, right by Glenstang Burn.
Delicious food & very friendly staff! Bed a bit small (we are both tall and are used to bigger than a normal double size), but overall a very welcome stop-over for our River Ayr Way walk.
Excellent service and tasty food. Really good atmosphere. Great range of choices available and portion sizes were just right. Would highly recommend for any occasion
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Been several times and they never fail. Recommend the lamb any day. Great value for money and nice warm fire on
Great food well cooked and very tasty. Staff helpful and pleasant. Portions were big.No bother in getting some of the meal home with me as I couldn’t finish it.
Lovely food, in great traditional pub in the countryside. Good range of CAMRA beers. The staff made us feel welcome, and relaxed. Little bit pricey but the menu was varied and different, as well as delicious.
A tasty and freshly prepared food from a well balanced menu. My wife and I will certainly be returning next time we're in the area.
