Leicester is known for a few things, and quality Indian restaurants are very high among them. This one, Tadka on Catherine Street, certainly stands out from the crowd due to its specialising in genuine homestyle Indian cooking. The result of this is just as many vegetarian dishes as meat dishes – the food in India does make a far greater use of vegetables, after all – and just as many new flavours as those that you’re likely already familiar with. All of that, combined with Tadka’s excellent central Leicester location, makes it one you certainly can’t afford to miss. Reserve a table now.
Everything was really good , particularly the customer service . Curries were very good , perfect spice and heat . Sizzlers were ok . Only feed back was for the 5 Piece Tandoori king pawn sizzler - we’re not king pawns . Not as big as expected . And was £12.95 for something that was so small wasn’t worth it. This was the only thing that let the meal down and perhaps you could have a little look into. Other than that it was very good, all in all.
Some food was good like the chicken chilli dry. Didn’t like the lamb chops they tasted weird. The egg curry was nice and the garlic naan tasted lovely. The only thing that disappointed us that it took 45 to an hour to get out starter. Especially with a young child that is waiting too long. But the staff apologised and were very nice.
Really enjoyed food, service was good but atmosphere was abit noisy but otherwise good. Will return with friends and family. Prices could be abit fairer
Service was a bit slow, but food good. Starters were expensive.... Mains good value. Would we go back? Probably not as there are plenty of Indian restaurants to explore in Leicester.
