we had an excellent night. The server advised us on a typically Indian street food that was excellent. Main dishes were delicious and the service was excellent and discreet. Highly recommended.

Food was great, all very tasty and high quality although a little expensive for the portion size. Atmoshphere was a little quiet. Visited Thursday lunch and it was almost empty.

What a shame - the restaurant has changed their style of menu completely, to try and be more 'tapas'-y with small plates (which then works out a lot more expensive as you have to buy 5-7 for 2 people, we were told), and then main courses plus rice started at around £22! The previous restaurant on this site went the other way - they started trying small plates, but nobody wanted that, so they reverted back to standard fare. The waiter didn't seem at all surprised when we said we were leaving before ordering - I should have known something was up as there were only a few other people dining, at 7pm on a Thursday!

It simply has the Tamarind's DNA. Good meal, good value, good wines by glass. It works! I love the original Tamarind and so I can't hate Tamarind Kitchen.
