In the heart of London’s Wood Green, Tarshish dishes out amazing Mediterranean and Turkish cooking that takes simple ingredients and makes them extraordinary. Home to a wide range of Turkish menu items including small plates, grilled mains and signature specials, Tarshish offers amazing food for any budget. We recommend the grilled salmon fillet with spinach, the chicken a la cream or the restaurant’s delicious version of the classic iskender kebab – lamb, chicken, adana shish served on a bed of croutons along with halep sauce and yoghurt. Already hungry? Book a table in advance to avoid disappointment at this High Road hotspot.
My boyfriend and I have been excited to visit this place because it’s located near his flat in the Wood Green area. We pass by it often and finally, we were going in. We booked our table 1weel in advance just in case. Once we Enter reread the ambience was breathtaking ,impeccable actually. We asked in the reservation to have a nice view near the window, however when we were seated( the restaurant wasn’t that full on a Wednesday night) we were seated in a middle row( the only ones) while everyone else enjoyed a window seat. Mind you, other window tables were ready and available. Just to not be a nuance we stayed at our table. The dining experience is what made the scoring so low. We were constantly overlooked and every time we did get a waiter attention it wasn’t attentive, it was quick and on to the next. The food however was absolutely delicious, Lamb chops to die for!We usually do not do fine dining perhaps that was noticeable, but we still expected the same treatment as if we were going to a 3 star restaurant, sadly that wasn’t the case.Perhaps we had such high hopes!
Brilliant food. Brilliant view. Brilliant service. What more could you want? Staff were so welcoming so it made the experience 100x better. I have been a customer few times before and I could only say the experience gets better every time.
Great atmosphere, especially for those going on a date, others might find it a little dark though. Food is good, not brilliant and takes quite some time to come out. The service is brilliant, as it should be, as you have to pay service charge.
The food was mouth watering. The restaurant was well designed and the crowd was good. The starters, main and desserts were equisite. Staff members were very friendly and helpful.
