About Taste Of Africa

Taste of Africa deliver on the promise of authentic, delicious and healthy food inspired by African cultures and landscape right on Fishponds Road in Bristol. With so much to choose from, start with some fried plantains, spicy potato and fish balls, chicken gizzard or pepper-coated roasted goat to keep the wolves at bay while perusing the main menu. Then head any direction you choose into the diverse wonders of African food, be it a warming traditional soup like ewedu (blended jute leaves with dried crayfish) or eforiro (melon seed with spinach and catfish), a filling vegetarian option like the amazing Nigerian moin moin (steamed bun pudding with fresh ground peppers) or a hefty hit of curried beef, African beans and fragrant spices. The friendly staff are always happy to talk about their food and the particular health benefits of each dish, so you really know you are under expert care at this FIshponds and Eastville restaurant.

Different but tasty food. The hostess was very friendly and helped with our meal choices by explaining what each comprised of. The restaurant was very quiet yet we had to wait a while for our starters (good to know that it is being freshly prepared but a wait of 30 minutes plus seemed too long considering no-one else was dining at that point). Bring your Own was a bonus.

Friendly staff and tasty food for a reasonable price. It made a welcome change to the usual style of food in restaurants. Being BYO also keeps the price down!
