Unfortunately mix up did occur and restaurant was not open for business, however I must say how gracious the owner was fantastic and very apologetic and offered to find us somewhere else! Can’t wait to come back and actually get to eat

The food was awful, limited choice of wine . The entertainment was mediocre, not an enjoyable evening . Would think twice about going back there

Poor service, loud ‘background’ music, tatty decor and barely adequate food. We have used this hotel many times over the years including our wedding reception and are really diasapointed how poor it has become.

Only place I could find on mother’s Day not sold out for lunch....get the feeling they’re struggling here overall...the building is looking a bit tired, staff seem stretched, it’s all a bit disorganised - needs a visit from Someone from like Gordon Ramsey...

The family had a fabulous Christmas lunch. Food and service was really great. John and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome.

The Hotel is delightfully hidden away and steeped in history . On arrival it was instantly obvious that the garden and internal and external decoration was "Tired". The hotel badly needs a massive cash injection as it is stuck in a 1960's time warp . The welcome and service is warm , helpful and friendly . The menu was small ( not necessarily a bad thing ) the food was passable , the presentation though needs a little more thought - Formica topped tables did not help . The Hotel location is fabulous , the history and building hard to beat .. with money and a sympathetic upgrade this place could be stunning and attract once more the rich and famous and command likewise revenue.

We had a late evening meal provided by Chef who served us with good humour despite him clearly having been busy with a wedding. Brilliant service from an excellent employee.

The meal was not as the menu read on line, poor choice and the room we sat in was small and felt like the breakfast room. During the meal the waitress turned the lights up really bright which made me feel I was having my meal in lighthouse.

Mother's Day carvery was good, however service left a lot to be desired. Not very attentive and slow, a lot of young staff with a lack of organisation and management.

Food was ok to good, venue was good, but service was so bad. The waitress/waiter staff were put in a position they we're not trained or experienced enough to handle and subsequently we suffered a bad experience enough to not want us to return again under the same management. The experience was not just contained to our table, other customers appeared to suffer the same.
