The Aviary Bar & Brasserie

Food is lovely, always is. Best food in the area. Good chef. Service however is terrible. From sitting down to being served it took 1hr 45 mins. We had children with us too. The staff so friendly but obv not enough of them on a busy day. Restaurant was full for Sunday. Also, they had a DJ. Why do restaurants presume playing loud music on a Sunday gets people in ? Good food & good service gets people in. Obviously I can’t recommend this place to anyone & thats a shame. Great potential

First visit , really enjoyed everything, the d j was a nice surprise too , was able to sit in the lovely outside terrace .

Ambiance, food was great. Very friendly staff only complaint is there was no other customers just 5 of us but it took a long time for them to serve our food.

Got shown to our seats very promptly starters mains will probably one of the best in Essex. I’ve eaten definitely highly recommend the pork belly to start with.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, super friendly owner and his wife, very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely evening, made us drinks that was not in the menu, and we would definitely go back to try the roast on a Sunday, Hopefully more people go to support small local businesses as u can see they are trying super hard

Third visit now and as before the food, atmosphere and service is exceptional. Loughton really needs this place. It’s stylish, the menu is interesting, individually owned rather than being a part of a chain. Lucien the owner is passionate and very knowledgeable about food. Altogether another excellent experience. We will be back for more.

Very enjoyable, very good food and service. A perfect place for a Friday evening with the girls, DJ was excellent and there is plenty of room for a little dance.

Very good Sunday Lunch with generous portion size absolutely no complaints with the food, however did find it a little dark in there and a couple of things weren’t available , but on the whole a good experience, with very pleasant staff .

Excellent in every way, beautifully decorated, low key elegance, food was delicious and not over priced, the service was impeccable. We were looking for an up market restaurant to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary with our family and thought we would have to travel to the west end to get what we wanted, but now we will definitely be celebrating at Aviary!

Excellent food and service. The only criticism was how loud the music became - we were seated nearest the speaker and decided to have dessert at home as we couldn’t hear all our conversation ( we were a party of 4). We will definitely go again but will ask for table nearest the door next time!

The decor is tasteful but unusual. Staff were welcoming and very efficient. Good choice on the menu but not too much to choose some. Food was great with two exceptions, the chunky chips my husband ordered to accompany his steak were soggy and the champagne sauce on my halibut was far too salty. Fortunately there was not enough of it to spoil the whole meal. Overall though, a lovely evening

Food was very nice, service excellent we went for an early dinner so it wasn’t busy but I would definitely go back - I think due to the prices it would be on special occasions but worth the money - just not somewhere we would go on a weekly/monthly basis

Service was slow. Took quite some time between starters and mains. Mains food portions weren’t huge although starters were a good size. Cocktails were very good. Needs some tweaking but still a new restaurant so hopefully it gets there.
