The Ballroom is one of Cheltenham and Montpellier’s most prominent Bangladeshi and South Asian restaurant, whose superb premises in Bayhill Lodge down Montpellier Street, at the junction with Parabola Road, function as restaurant, wine bar, coffee lounge, party and function venue. The kitchen is headed up by chef Mozlu Miha, who has crafted an a la carte menu that takes traditional Bangladeshi and Bengali-Indian cuisine and gives it a contemporary update to suit the modern palate. His personal recommendation for when you choose to dine at The Ballroom is the lamb shaktora, which cooks lambs with the shaktora citrus fruit that imparts a sweet and sour flavour to this medium spicy Syhleti dish. Prime location and a superlative offering combine to make The Ballroom a popular restaurant that demands an advance reservation.
The food is always fresh and good. There is a good choice and value for money. If you want a good Indian meal in a nice location I would recommend you give it a try.
Restaurant was cold and the welcome not much warmer - we had a deal voucher which we found not as generous as initially thought - turned out expensive as we needed to pay extra for the dishes we wanted and the "meal" onlyincluded the main dish - no rice, nan or side dish.
Lovely restaurant, great food and polite and attentive staff. We visited after a day a the races whilst staying In Cheltenham. Would highly recommend. A lovely evening.
