The Ballroom is one of Cheltenham and Montpellier’s most prominent Bangladeshi and South Asian restaurant, whose superb premises in Bayhill Lodge down Montpellier Street, at the junction with Parabola Road, function as restaurant, wine bar, coffee lounge, party and function venue. The kitchen is headed up by chef Mozlu Miha, who has crafted an a la carte menu that takes traditional Bangladeshi and Bengali-Indian cuisine and gives it a contemporary update to suit the modern palate. His personal recommendation for when you choose to dine at The Ballroom is the lamb shaktora, which cooks lambs with the shaktora citrus fruit that imparts a sweet and sour flavour to this medium spicy Syhleti dish. Prime location and a superlative offering combine to make The Ballroom a popular restaurant that demands an advance reservation.
The food is always fresh and good. There is a good choice and value for money. If you want a good Indian meal in a nice location I would recommend you give it a try.
Although it was fairly busy, the waiting time was not unreasonable Food was cooked to usual excellent standard I like the area downstairs to chill and have a coffee in comfy chairs after the meal
Great food, really great food, reasonably priced, attentive service without being obsequious and with an outstanding old world charm. I highly recommend The Ballroom restaurant in Cheltenham to anyone who enjoys dining out.
Fantastic food served up by very attentive and polite members of staff. Would recommend to all. They have a wide range of different dishes. Give it a try.
The service was excellent. The food was the best 'Indian' I have ever eaten. I'm not sure what the building was before it was The Ballroom but what beautiful surroundings to enjoy a meal out. Superb. We will be back 👍
The food was lovely as always. However, although the service was efficient, I am sorry to say we felt unwelcome! The staff were not warm or friendly and our bill was brought to us without it being requested. We weren't asked if we wanted coffee or anything to follow our main courses just handed the bill. This made us leave quite quickly. We all said thank you and good night with little response from the restaurant staff. Like I said, no complaints at all about quality of food and how it was served, just didn't feel comfortable. This is important to me so I think it would put me off going again, even though we have eaten there a number of times before. I'm not even sure if we will continue you ordering takeaway which we have done quite regularly over the past 3 years.
Excellent menu, plenty to choose from. Staff very professional and courteous, service excellent. Food hot and very tasty. Would definitely recommend to others. Thank you and hope to visit and taste the delicious food again.
One of the best indian restaurant in cheltenham . Love the restaurant and food is defrand music defrent food wine are specialists dafantey see you son. Evry one should tary this place.
Wonderful food and friendly efficient staff. We had a lovely evening and will go back. We took members of our family who were also very impressed. They too will go back.
Beautiful building, but disappointing over all. It's not that the food was bad, it was just dull - not enough spice and in one or two dishes quite overcooked. Service wasn't great: they tried to rush us into ordering but then took ages to bring food! So, not an unpleasant evening, but there are better Indian restaurants in Cheltenham.
