The Black Horse Inn is a pretty special place. Licensed in 1577, it’s been serving quality ale for over 1000 years, and these days it serves some pretty delicious food as well. It’s about as charming a British country pub as you could wish to find, complete with a beer garden, open fires and everything else you’d expect. Mains on the menu include homemade cheese & onion pie, tender braised lamb shank with mash and mint gravy, and a creamy chicken stroganoff that we love served half and half with chips and rice. You’ll find The Black Horse on Long Lane in Limbrick, as you head out from Chorley towards Heath Charnock. Reservations are wise.
