Very good variety of food on offer, excellent quality at a reasonable price. Staff very attentive, only negative comment would be regarding the aircon which was still set at cold after a few very warm days and as it was a lot cooler outside we all felt uncomfortably cold during our otherwise enjoyable visit.

We had a look at the menu online and decided that it was worth a try because there were plenty of vegetarian dishes for us. Unfortunately when the server gave us the menu it was only the lunch menu and there were only 3 vegetarian dishes with one being the soup of the day. I chose macaroni which was nice but my partner asked if he could have veg tempura which wasnt on the menu. When his arrived it came with chips. The tempura was lovely but it was too much served with chips, a salad would have been better. He initially asked for a veg burger but they didnt have any even though it was burger night. The quality of all the food was lovely and it was well presented. Im not sure If I would go back because when my partner was paying for the meal the server said that they had taken the vegetarian dishes which i would have chosen, off of the menu because nobody was ordering them. If you are vegetarian/vegan i would phone ahead first to ask what the options are, but i would say that any meat eater would have no problem choosing something from the menu.

The food was excellent and freshly cooked with the staff being very attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is well laid out and we had a nice quiet corner where we could chat without having to shout above the music or be overheard. Would definitely go again, and will be recommending to others.

Cullen skink had 2 lemon wedges in it. Excuse they must have slipped in when carrying through, although they weren't visible when served. Experience disgusting.

Our starters were brought out within minutes of ordering, so quickly it's difficult to believe they were cooked fresh (which is what we were told). My wife's starter was only warm, but she put up with it. Our mains then arrived, again very quickly. My wife's dish was again only warm and certain ingredients seemed to be either uncooked or not cooked well enough. She returned the dish explaining what was wrong and selected something else, which unfortunately again was not of a satisfactory standard. One of the owners did take the time to come and talk to us about it and apologise (but to be honest as the place was virtually empty it wasn't exactly taking her away from something else!). My wife's mains were taken off the bill and they gave us a drink each, but the starter was left on the bill, even though my wife had explained that wasn't cooked properly either. The meals are reasonably priced, but you can buy a half decent bottle of wine for the price of a glass. This was our second visit, the first one last year was good, which was why we returned last night. Looking at other reviews it seems pretty hit and miss, you either have a good experience or a bad one. We won't be returning.

The Brae felt really comfortable and the Staff were really friendly. The food was that of a fine dining restaurant and not a pub. This place is well worth a visit if you love eating great food in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere

I really enjoyed my visit to the Brae. The food was good and the service was excellent. I had the tempura chicken to start and thought the way it was presented was different in a good way. I will definitely be back.

Lovely food but freezing cold venue. All had to wear jackets. Bit pricey for village pub - expect those prices in Glasgow. Not huge portion sizes.
