Had to book urgently as surprise visit by family from abroad so no chance to visit pub beforehand. Pub/food rated by friends though. Greeting was lukewarm and would have preferred to eat in restaurant rather than very noisy bar area, seating was a tad cramped and overall uncomfy. Due to pub being busy did not think we could be re-seated. Wait for main course was pleasantly short considering how busy they were and overall was good. Unfortunately dessert was lukewarm. Would I go there for a pint...probably. Would I go for another meal there....would think about it. I am being critical as it was first impressions, who knows, another visit might be totally different.

The food was good, the staff were friendly and efficient. The only thing that let it down was the highback chairs which were unbelievably uncomfortable. Luckily we were able to move to another table where the chairs were more comfortable. Overall would use the Chequers again.

The staff were lovely - super helpful and friendly. The food was good too - tasty and good variety on the menu too. Had to wait a little for table to be set but otherwise faultless meal! Thank you Chequers.
