We enjoyed Sunday lunch in the upstairs restaurant which is beautifully furnished and plenty of space between tables. We were well looked after by the staff including George who is always delightful. The meal was first class, really nicely presented and great quality. Excellent all round. Would highly recommend.

Not much atmosphere, would have preferred to be downstairs. Waiter was pleasant. Sunday dinner only ok, Yorkshire pudding like cardboard and cold. Only 3 desserts to choose from. All in all wont rush to come again.

Sunday lunch - wonderful atmosphere at The Chequers today for Sunday Lunch. We all had roasts - mine a Brazilian Nut roast. We were made welcome by all the staff. Lovely occasion for the four of us.

The pub looks like it had a recent refurbishment and is bright and fresh . Very friendly service and food was good limited menu but that’s what makes it good.

The food was fabulous and a very good portion for the price. Service was efficient and friendly, and a carafe of chilled water brought straight away (without having to be requested) was lovely....you just felt that 'everything was going to be good if this is how it starts'. It may be we chose to eat a little too early for Sunday Lunch as the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived. More customers arrived later and the atmosphere improved. The only recommendation I would make for the owners is to ensure condensation if removed from the inside of the windows prior to service.

First time here and we all really enjoyed the excellent, tasty food and beer plus super service with a smile from both of the young staff members. Thank you also for accommodating our needs by reserving a downstairs table - much appreciated.
