Came for a pre- theatre meal. Food tasty and friendly service. Unfortunately no prawn curry and I don't eat meat so had dhal. Not a problem as was tasty, but wish salmon was still on menu as well.

No prawn dishes at all. Only two types of beer available from a list of 5

I would highly recommend this place for interesting and delicious food, lovely cocktails and cosy atmosphere - our visit didn't start off that well - after requesting a good table to celebrate our anniversary we were directed to a thoroughfare table at the top of the stairs and had to ask to be moved to a much nicer and cosier table which was free. The staff were happy to accommodate but then it took a while to take our order and bring drinks. For a Wednesday night the place was pleasantly busy though which gave it a good atmosphere and once the drinks and food arrived, things went from okay to great! The food was delicious, service quickly improved and was friendly and they even gave us a surprise anniversary cocktail which topped off our night. We will definitely be going back!

Very friendly staff. Restaurant set up to look rustic and shack like, with 'home made' looking furniture. Clean and homely with a welcoming and relaxed vibe. Fairly limited menu but our choices - curry goat and pork belly - were tasty and filling, and of good quality too! Enjoyed the experience and would go again.

We came as a large party and we all ordered the same help to order, which gives you 1 hopper and 3-4 dishes of mixed meat or fish dishes. But it listed that we would have support with our selections and negotiations. I was disappointed that we got 2 cashew nut dishes and there was more veg options than fish. It was definitely more than enough food for the party. Although they could have adjusted the kids meal, as we ordered one extra rice but they charged us for a full set menu, and then was quite rude when trying to sort the bill. the service wasn’t great, it was. Slow and not attentive as dishes were tapas side and no one came to clean the plates as we finished and we had loads of empty plates, and no drinks. Overall the food was good, over ordered, but we got to try over half the menu and we would come back again.

Good choice of food for vegans. We opted for the hopper with restaurant choice. Unfortunately there was too much food so we had to leave some.

We visited for Fathers Day and everything felt a bit "so-so", this restaurant came highly recommended so the expectations were high which could have been part of why things felt disappointing. The initial welcome into the restaurant was great and once seated we were on the path of being impressed but the service fell quite flat after that. We had to get their attention whenever we needed to order, rather than them being attentive to our table. When drinks came out, old glasses weren't taken away which made the table cluttered and messy, especially when the food came as you get a few small dishes that take up space. The food itself was ok, nothing special which is a shame as that it what would have made me come back even with sub par service.

music was a bit to loud, bit hot on 2nd floor. otherwise great, food lovey great atmosphere, will go again.

Fantastic service and wonderfully authentic Sri Lanka food, takes me back to my many lovely holidays on the island. Will be back for more soon! Thanks to the whole team at Gas Street! X

Had a great time. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they talked us through the menu which was great. Food and cocktails were delicious, prompt service, lovely surroundings and clean toilets which is always a good sign. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.

The food and service was great, I would be visiting again for sure. However, I realised the optional 'Service charge' was added which I noticed after payment. I don't like how that could put a customer in a position where they may not want to refuse the charge, and as I believe 'Service' shouldn't be charged, that should be naturally given and should come with the price of food.

INCREDIBLE experience! Outstanding food that I haven't stopped thinking about a good 30 hours later. Blown away by the perfect flavours in every single faultless dish. Loved the staff, particularly Nav who is the most attentive and helpful servers/owners ever. It feels like you've walked into a family home and taken care of by cousins, wonderful place that I'm desperate to go back to and take every single person I know.

We had a really enjoyable meal. It was full of flavour. The cocktails were lovely. The staff were really friendly. The service was great. We will definitely be along again.

Received a warm welcome in this great little restaurant. As First timers we were well looked after. The food was fantastic there was nothing we ordered on the tapas menu we would not have again. Fabulous experience highly recommend.

First time visit. It was a Sunday evening so not very busy. Our waitress Amy was very attentive and her recommendations were spot on. Thicker/firmer cushions on the benches would have made it a little more comfortable. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit.

The restaurant was short staffed which led to a rather disappointing experience. Many of our dishes were delayed coming to the table. Rice dishes in particular were slow and didn’t arrive until people had finished the dishes they were supposed to accompany. Some of the dishes were also barely warm when they arrived. One of the cocktails that was ordered at the start didn’t arrive until after we had nearly finished our meals. The staff did their best but they were obviously under pressure.
