Average meal small portions big prices, best meal on our table was the haddock and chips

Fantastic food lovely staff was that good we went twice in one week!

Enjoyed the visit and atmosphere will definitely call again in the near future thanks to the waiter that served us for his help with my dietary needs.

First visit to the new Dog and Duck, a very warm and friendly atmosphere, service was quick, very little waiting time between courses, price wise mid range not expensive, we will be visiting the Dog and Duck again.

Disappointing visit. My daughter was refused a glass of wine at 21 and a none robust reason given. Queried but unsatisfactory answer given. We were eating she was with her mum who verified it. We went elsewhere afterwards and no problem.

Nice pub grub. Nice location. Good prices and pleasant staff. If I wanted to be picky the waiter/waitresses did fall short in a few places such as no cutlery for eating soup and we never got asked if the food was ok except when collecting the dishes but in general it was very pleasant

It's ok. But expensive for the quality of food if i'm honest.

We had enjoyed the food on our last visit a few weeks ago but we had the same dishes and on this occasion the hand cut chips were thin, not like the fat yummy ones before. Also we had the chocolate torte which was less good. It was smaller, had less coulis and no chocolate sauce but did have nuts which actually detracted from it.

Staying locally and visited on recommendation. Lovely meal, nice surroundings and attentive staff.

lt was ny birthday and my two friends treated me to a lovely meal at the Dog & Duck. The welcome we received was lovely The surroundings and ambience was superb. Our waiter was very attentive & knowledgeable We all chose the tomato soupvwhich was delicioius. l chose the King Prawn & Chorizo Linguine which was really tasty! l have been several times before & have not been disappointed but it is a good idea to book in advance to avoid disappointment! l had a lovely evening! A big 'Thank you' to all the staff!

Having booked a table online. We arrived to rather stressed looking staff-in the bar. We had a waitress walk ahead to show us our table, that we couldn’t follow as it was very busy with staff. We were pointed to the table. At this point, it would have been good to have been asked for our drinks order rather than having a fifteen minute wait, before being asked by a member of staff if we had ordered any drinks. We also had a little one with us that very obviously needed a children’s menu, which again we had to ask for. There was a long wait for the drinks order to be taken and an equally long wait for the food order to be taken. We cannot fault the food. We were all happy with our choices. We did wait for a long time for our plates to be cleared, which never happened. We would normally have dessert/ coffee but decided to leave without ordering any further courses as it was impossible to get any attention from the staff. We won’t be visiting again in the near future, which is a shame as the food was good quality but the service needs to be improved. I must say that as a caterer myself I feel the that the devices used for ordering seem to divert the staffs attention to other customers in the restaurant.

Amazing food as always and great service with friendly staff.

Haven't been since the latest upgrade. We were most impressed. The restaurant has a nice ambience, the seats were comfortable and the high-back sofas offered a degree of privacy to the table. Service was excellent. The menu had some unusual items to choose from and the food did not disappoint. We shall certainly return.

Overall had a lovely meal all of our food was lovely, we were waiting quite a while for our mains & there was a quiz night on which I felt ruined the classy atmosphere/set up. Music was a little too loud too once the quiz started.

One of our party would have preferred their meal on a plate instead of on a chopping board. Some of the food could have been a bit hotter, however, overall it was very nice.
