Very nice lunch - the food was excellent and the service was very prompt and friendly. I liked the alcohol free Adnams Ghostship beer they had available. No complaints

As always, the Fountain staff offer a very warm welcome. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The food is tasty, well presented and the table service is efficient and friendly. Great atmosphere for a relaxed and enjoyable dinning experience. What more could you wish for?

I had lunch at The Fountain, earlier today, with my mother. As usual, the food was excellent and the service was polite and efficient. This place really is a gem in the heart of Suffolk.

Some of the best pub food we've had. Outstanding starters and puds especially. Excellent service from cheerful staff too. Will definitely be back for more!

As always, a very tasty three course meal was served to all four of us. Great relaxed atmosphere, efficient and friendly service. All options very reasonably priced. A very enjoyable experience.

Excellent service and fabulous food, highly recommend this establishment. Price was competitive and good choice of menu, something for everyone. It is very busy restaurant so book well in advance, they didn't have a Friday or Saturday night available for weeks.

Not a very extensive menu seemed to rely on their specials board or their set meal which was not very inspiring. Food was very well cooked and service excellent. Quite expensive.

We always enjoy our visits to The Fountain. Good surroundings, good menus, good quality food and good service. We look forward to our next visit.

When we ordered food we asked for 2 sausage and mash and requested that sausages were well done. They were not, the meat was cooked but the skins were not even light brown, we did tell the waitress and she just said sorry. Don’t think we will go again as we struggled with the environment it was a Tuesday and the noise was appalling.

Lovely place to eat. Staff excellent and quality and quantity of food is too. Only reason for 5 rating is my friend and I could hardly hear ourselves speak over the noise from the table next to us. Maybe if couples could be put little further away from parties it would be better.

Excellent service and friendly staff. However, and I didn't complain at the time as the other three guests's meals were impeccable, but my 8oz burger was extremely dry and just crumbled when you tried to cut it, and the chips were soggy and un-appetising so much so I left half my dinner.

Can not knock the staff so polite and attentive and relaxing atmosphere but the food was style over substance rather disappointing wouldn’t go again unfortunately

We felt that the carpet in the restaurant was rather tired and should be replaced with wooden flooring which is easier to keep clean. Food excellent Flies a problem

On the hottest day of the year so far , the staff kept not only their own cool but ours as well by offering us the opportunity to sit outside on the terrace under the shade of a mammoth parasol . Excellent fare from starter to dessert and coffee enjoyed by the four of us .......and the wine well chilled !

Food and service at its usual excellent standard for the Tuddenham Fountain. Good choice on lunch time menu and reasonable price. Staff very helpful and prompt delivery of our order

Tasty food, reasonably priced with friendly and efficient service. The specials board was particularly good. The roasted cod loin served with samphire and a prawn chowder was delicious as was the whole sea bass. Even the children’s fish and ships was tasty and used good quality fish in a crispy batter. We each had a different desert and all the choices were equally delicious, especially the baked cheesecake and the brioche bread and butter pudding. There is plenty of outdoor seating and we sat under a covered terrace which was delightfully cool on such a warm day. We woud happily eat there again.

I took my parents out for lunch for my Mum's birthday. We all enjoyed a lovely meal. Mum said that it was the best steak that she had had for ages and the sea bass was gorgeous, along with yummy sweet potatoes fries. The afters were good too. Went home nice and full. Would do again - well recommended.

Good menu with daily specials. Lovely fresh fish cooked to perfection and served with a smile. I don't know why you need 25 words. I said it all in 16.

Excellent atmosphere and service. We visited Sunday evening and my roast beef was rare, as requested and with the Superbly cooked potatoes, crunchy veggies and batter pudding. I couldn't resist the Chocolate bread and budding pudding with custard. My wife chose the lamb and was equally impressed by the quality of food

There is a good menu choice well cooked tasty food. The salad was a bit disappointing but that is probably the time of year. Frites are lovely.

Beautiful surroundings and as soon as we arrived they made us feel welcome. The service was excellent and prompt. The food was delicious - I had the most mouthwatering ribeye steak I’ve ever eaten and even the salad was wonderful :-)

We had very good food ,well presented by polite staff .it is a classic english pub.the only down side was the noise, wooden floor no curtains meaning no sound insulation.

Even though it was a busy Valentine's day we were treated to a really relaxed dining experience. It was only as we left that we realised our family were the last to go and they were setting up for evening service. The meal was really enjoyable, great choice on the menu and specials. We were so spoilt for choice, we'll just have to go back and try it all!

It was good, after the food was ordered it came very quickly and the food was really nice. However the staff took a long time to come and take our order and bring the bill and such, making it quite frustrating when trying to leave, other than that very nice place

Lovely food with excellent selection. Nice to have an option of a sample dessert for when you want something sweet, but only a little bit!

Always a pleasure at the Fountain...My only reason for not maximum rating was a slight disappointment with the Rarebit starter( ordered as a main)..Too much onion spoiled the flavour (only my opinion ofcourse). We will be back.... Robert

The Tuddenham Fountain is always first class. The Choice is excellent and the chosen meal is always to a very high standard. The staff are both efficient and polite and make you feel welcome. A great chef is in the background. The best in the area

We have been coming here for many years and have always had good food with professional service and all at a reasonable cost. We would recommend it to all.

Excellent food and service. I regularly go to The Fountain and I am always happy coming out. I always recommend The Fountain as one of the best restaurants in Ipswich.

Limited choice, specials board predominantly fish, waiters constantly walking past with big trays of food above your head making for an uncomfortable experience. Second drink order took a long time to appear.

We had a lovely lunchtime meal, the restraunt was packed, so glad I had booked. The only reason I have not given a 6 rating is because the menu was a bit confusing. With starters being available as mains, a set menu that was also priced separately and some items in the specials board that could be part of the set menu and others that could not. You need to simplify that, then I would have rated higher.

Good food and service as always. Attractive surroundings, varied menu to chose from and set price lunch menu is good value. Service attentive when needed but left us alone to chat which was appreciated.

Pleasant dining area with attentive staff. Food generally very good. Very tender steak cooked just right. Crab souffle was very nice although the main course portion I had was identical to the starter portion my friend had albeit with a bit more sauce and some new potatoes so didn't seem worth the extra cost. Will probably go again. Would definitely go again if they took American Express.
