So what was going to be an excellent review, as the service was amazing and the food was absolutely incredible… quality, taste & portion size, was then marred by watching something that was absolutely appalling and unhygienic! Watching the ‘chef’(?) use a tea towel, repeatedly slung over his shoulder and dragged through this hands, then used to wipe the sweat off his face, then fall on the floor, but was also used to wipe down plates, before serving to customers!! It was unbelievable and grotesque to watch! Has put me right off going there again… an experience that started off being ‘the best food I’d tasted’ in such a beautiful setting…

The food was very good. The service could not have been better. I chose The Garden because of the gluten-free options and I was very pleased with my meal. I would definitely go back.

Staff were friendly upon arrival and seated us quickly, food and drinks ordered and arrived shortly after. Food was good, but staff were very busy, and did not get back to remove to empty plates for 20 minutes, in which time we had decided to leave the meal there and not wait any further for deserts etc.

Had a lovely lunch, I had the steak ciabatta with garlic mayo. Really tasty, but the tasty is fairly rare so be sure to ask for well done if that’s not to your taste, it’s also quite heavy on the balsamic, but genuinely really nice.

Lovely venue with great food and friendly service. Bottomless brunch had a wide selection of food choices and drink options to suit everyone. It’s great to have a bottomless brunch in Chippenham and not having to venture into Bath or Bristol to have the same.

Lovely food but waited almost an hour. The music was a little too loud and we were not impressed that all the drinks came from plastic bottles and Cans.

Chips too salty had to leave a lot.but main food good overall.

A warm welcome in an air-conditioned restaurant. Very welcome, as it was 31° outside! Great menu and service. All 4 of us loved our meals and the portions were generous. A very relaxed atmosphere.

went for a birthday meal they were understaffed and only had one server but the food ans service was amazing and the cocktails were amazing

Did not enjoy the visit. My dinner was overcooked, I struggled to eat the meat. There was only one waitress on but there was only one other table in the restaurant (might have been more outside) but the service was so slow. Just wasnt impressed and wont be returning.

My wife, dear friend & myself visited for the first time, after looking for a 'pre-show' meal at the Neeld Hall. Looked at multiple places in Chippenham & the menu choices really stood out to me as being something different than the norm & all the others I had looked at when searching online in the Chippenham town area. A full review of website along with menus built a positive image for me. I had phone call in well in advance of booking discussing seating & I took the opportunity of seeing if I could move booking forward 30mins, which was kindly accommodated. We all liked the ambience as soon as we walked in. Everything else was spot on & lived up to the image my mind had developed from booking. When reality equals or exceeds expectation/image built, result = very enjoyable meal & evening! We all had a lovely 2 course meal, which was cooked & served to perfection. Compliments to all concerned at the The Garden. I was impressed from start to finish & rest assured we will be back!

The food looked lovely, sadly the roasted butternut squash salad had rosemary storks left in from the cooking process. My friend choked on one, distressing for her , has scratched her throat, reported to the waitress, didn't seem too concerned or very apologetic . Chef informed!!

We’ve always had a good experience at The Garden but I’m afraid the service let us down last night. We had to wait 15 minutes to be served and then the waitress wanted to take our food order rather than offering us a drink. No deserts menu materialised and we had to go to the bar to request coffee. More staff needed I feel. Very disappointing

It was my granddaughter's & my first visit & it definitely won't be my last. Good friendly staff & excellent food. A lovely atmosphere & only became a bit noisy when it was full. I will definitely recommend it to my family & friends.

First time i have been amazing would be back again

Food was excellent. We both had the chicken Kiev dish which was delicious. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which was excellent. Service was efficient and very friendly without being over the top. If ever in Chippenham again, here for a wedding, we'd definitely eat there again.
