The Green Clerkenwell is a modern British pub located right on Clerkenwell Green. Serving up spectacular international dishes, this London eatery has a seasonal menu which changes regularly based on what locally sourced produce is available on any given day. The team at The Green Clerkenwell are an inventive bunch, so expect to find interesting flavour combinations in dishes such as the twice-baked cheese soufflé with wild garlic and hazelnuts or pork and prune terrine with cornichons. Whether you’re playing a get-together with friends, date night or a cute celebration with the fam, we highly advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
It was a Tuesday lunch time, haven from succumbing to the bitterly north winds and their icey pearcings. We hitched the steeds outside and entered for a good old fashioned chicken, mushroom pie that was stoked over open fires with ballistic side of cabbage. I never noticed my partners choice as the settled strangers speaking in foreign tongues were on my mind. Had the second guessed our move and were a step ahead. Either way the Green was not to hide in but be seen. We moved quietly to avoid their flares and managed to sneak through the Green under cover of the large .........
Great friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Excellent Sunday lunch - although the Yorkshire pud wasn't as good as last time! It used to be the real home made variety (slices from a big one done in a a baking tray)and now it is the usual small dry round thing that is done in a muffin tray - shame!
We had a disappointing Sunday lunch, having enjoyed good meals previously. The poussin was undercooked and had to be sent back; bread sauce was served cold; and the Yorkshire puddings were also undercooked. We shall need to see some signs of recovery before returning.
