Booked for 17:00 for two persons, as expected very few patrons at that time
The food was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly and always professional, wonderful pub
Unfortunately the food wasn’t good. We both opted for the steak dish and both steaks were riddled with fat and grissle.. We did expect staff to check with us after a couple of minutes and we would have brought it to their attention straight away. We were left to struggle with the meal. Once finished, and with both plates full of inedible food, the waitress finally came over, to clear the table. We told her the meal was dreadful. She was apologetic and said we should have gone to the bar and told her sooner......! In these Covid mask wearing times? I did reply that we were waiting for someone to check on us...We were the only diners inside, staff were not exactly run off their feet. We are new to the area. We won’t be eating there again. Shame.☹️
Great food, good service, good value for money. Will definitely be back again .
A massive disappointment, having been many times before and always been fine, this visit was terrible. Poor menu, bad service, (it wasn't busy only 2 tables). No dessert menu, but was offered cheese cake and chocolate fudge cake, which turned out to be a cold dry slice of chocolate cake! We won't be going back. Such a shame it used to be a lovely, welcoming pub with great food.
