lovely atmosphere. nice food but just a bit expensive for quantity. however very Mediterranean dishes. love it when they just bring you nice bread and olives to the table without asking!
Fantastic food! Service was a little slow but it was a busy father's day so it can be forgiven. Will definitely be visiting again soon!
Fantastic place, lovely food and very good service. Good price too. The Hill never fails to deliver and I love going there. Will return soon.
Good quality simple Mediterranean food reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning. The service was reasonable and there was a good selection of wine and beer.
Beautiful food - we had lamb and sea bass, both of which were expertly cooked. The service was friendly as always, and there is a great variety to suit everyone's tastes. The team take great pride in the restaurant, and it is always a pleasure to visit.
This is a really lovely, friendly place - a little bit out of the way but atmosphere was great (there was even someone playing a guitar), service very friendly and food delicious.
Excellent service and wonderful tasting food definitely will go again
Wonderful meal as always at the Hill with friendly service. The evening was made even better by the very talented acoustic guitarist who played almost all evening.
Great food and excellent service. A lovely atmosphere. Shame the gluten free menu was unable to deliver spaghetti as promised!
The Hill was welcoming from the start with free olives and garlic bread. As twilight fell they brought out a tray of twinkling candles for the tables. And best was the wonderful guitarist, strumming songs and creating the perfect atmosphere. The food was delicious. We were all delighted.
We celebrated my partner's 30th BDay. They cook pretty fast and food is delicious. Good prices on wine.
Always a pleasant experience at The Hill. Try the Tonno pizza you will love it !
The Hill is a neighbourhood restaurant that offers good quality, freshly cooked Mediterranean food in a pleasant, simple room some distance off the main Greenwich drag. Cuisine is a mix of Spanish, Italian and South American, all executed with a degree of authenticity. The specials are quite adventurous. To start, I had a hefty octopus tentacle charred from the grill, and my friends had a home-made vegetarian empanada, Spanish croquetas and mussels. One of the mains was Ecuadoran chicken with a peanut sauce and avocado salad. Service is friendly and efficient enough, and you get a sticky shot of sherry with the bill, which was reasonable for what we had. Very nice, would go again.
Excellent. Very good value for money. We enjoyed the octopus starter.
Very full and popular. Good food but portions a little large as we don't like to be over-faced. Service was a bit stretched.
Wonderful staff, delicious food, excellent atmosphere. Will certainly be back soon as it is one of the best restaurants in Greenwich and reasonably priced – the pizzas look amazing too!
Wonderful menu, fantastically cooked food, friendly service. Well worth the little walk away from the hussle in the more touristy area. Slightly pricey, but worth it. A perfect treat for my parents on mothers day
Lovely atmosphere with a live unobtrusive guitarist and good flavoursome food...portion sizes could be increased a little on one or two items (cheese and biscuits for example) and whilst the service was excellent one of the (male) waiters could do with smiling occasionally.
A brilliant meal with good service and excellent food and drink.
Lovely setting, delicious food and attentive professional service. We really enjoyed our meal and the reasonably priced bottle of Macon Villages Blanc that we ordered. Will go again and recommend The Hill to others.
This was our first visit to The Hill after a few recommendations. There was seven of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday lunch and will certainly be returning, especially as we are locals. The food, and choice of food was very good and the service excellent. To you all at The Hill, thank you for a great Saturday lunch!
We had a most convivial evening with a friend and will return soon as we live very close by. Excellent pasta and a really good atmosphere.
We had a great birthday celebration meal at the Hill on Wednesday. It's a quiet night there... which meant our laughing and chatting did not disturb anyone! The food was amazing as always, tasted my first chimmichurri and even got the ingredients from the chef so that I can give it a try myself. Ribeye may never be the same in our house again. A great evening, more people should go, as there were very few diners, the staff look a little bored at times... Thank you.
Good, simple food. Place was nice, I'm sure the atmosphere is also nice, when we went, we were their first customers, though as a result we had very good service. It got busier as we stayed and the restaurant ambience developed nicely. Had the lasagne with chips, exactly what we needed on a cold wintry day.
Staff were friendly, they gave us a number of unexpected Valentines freebies and the food was pretty good, if not mind-blowing. I think the Mediterranean theme is a bit broad and there's too much emphasis on pizzas, but I would go again.
We had a very pleasant meal at The Hill and the staff/kitchen were very able to deal with my friend's gluten dietary requirements. Staff very friendly. We will be back.
We had our Wedding Reception at The Hill and it was everything we had wished for and more. So friendly, such good hosts, beautiful attention to detail, elegant table decoration and great food. We had a great number of complements from our guests on the food (many of whom are 'foodies') and on the atmosphere in the restaurant. The steak was especially popular. Highly highly recommended.
Really nice smart place with excellent menu and service. Good value for money. We will certainly return
Good food and very pleasant staff. We went earlier in the evening so the ambience was not as perky as it had become by the time we left.
Very tasty dishes in a very friendly, warm and quiet décor! The guitarist brings life music; we had a very enjoyable evening. I give this restaurant the highest score because I find it the best restaurant in Greenwich!
Can't fault the food or the service. We were a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed the experience of dining at The Hill. We also had great fun trying to identify the tunes played by the resident guitarist.
We were visiting Greenwich for the first time and chose the Hill following internet reviews. The restaurant was friendly and welcoming with a good selection of food. We had the mixed antipasti which had some of the nicest mozzarella I had ever eaten and then both had the argentian steak which was as lovely as previous diners had suggested. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the meal was reasonable for London prices. My only disappointment was the absence of live music as indicated on the website which would have added an additional fun factor but overall a lovely place which I would certainly recommend to others.
Great food, reasonable prices and prompt service. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely staff, lovely food! We will definitely be back! Thanks!
Wonderful octopus and cevice to start on the specials, rich and tasty duck breast and delicate lemony veal made this a big step up from what you'd expect from a quiet local restaurant. Hopefully being a little further from the centre of Greenwich will keep this gem hidden for a little longer
Great service and very attentive staff. The food was excellent
Good food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Would go there again
Disappointing. Ceviche- a few cooked prawns- paella dry, acidic, reject mussels, not a successful attempt at good neighbourhood food.
Excellent service, and delicious food. We were celebrating so we had a bottle of champagne and a three course meal for two - came in at under £100 - fantastic value for money for such a high quality meal. I'd recommend The Hill to anyone.
Fast, efficient and friendly service. The food was great too.
