To put it mildly, eating Indian in the UK is an institution in itself, and nestled in Stewarton, The Indian Kitchen is strengthening this institution one korma, tikka masala and biryani at a time. But it’s much more than curry at this restaurant. It’s about passion and love for serving delicious, wholesome and unique meals that bring people together. You’ll find a plethora of delicious options on the menu in this relaxed restaurant in the heart of Stewarton’s town centre, with tasty options to suit all palates. Located on Lainshaw Road, this Indian haven is not to be missed.
Dining at the Indian Kitchen is always a pleasure. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. We started with beautifully crisp poppadoms with a selection of dips and toppings. The prawn poori with sweet chilli sauce starter was very tasty indeed. They have an excellent range of dishes; from the standards you would expect to an interesting and wee bit different range of house specials. They do a particularly nice fish curry. My choice of chicken 'daalcha' was very tasty, and the fried rice and nan sides we ordered were perfect. Ambience and decor are modern and relaxing. Just don't sit too near the door if possible- it can be a wee bit draughty when people come and go.
The menu at The Indian Kitchen in Stewarton’s town centre is without a doubt the star of the show. And alongside the warm and friendly service and carefully curated drinks list, what more could you want? This Indian haven is packed with delicious dishes and we recommend kicking things off at The Indian Kitchen with a few starters, perfect to share with friends or family. Begin with delicious aloo tikki (potato cakes), cauliflower and fish pakoras and the sizzler for two featuring chicken tikka, lamb chops, chicken wings and seekh kebab. These will surely get your appetite sufficiently prepared for the main event to follow.
For the main, perhaps opt for one of The Indian Kitchen’s signature dishes, like the muchlee masala made with chunks of fish cooked in fresh ginger and garlic sauce with crushed green chillies and onion, or from the chef’s collection, try the lamb with mint yoghurt flavoured with healthy doses of cumin. Vegetarians are of course in heaven at The Indian Kitchen and the butter spinach with potato in a ginger base is particularly mouthwatering. This Indian restaurant is located in Stewarton’s town centre, in Lainshaw Street, and is one of the most popular spots in town. So do yourself a favour and reserve a table, you won’t be disappointed.
