We booked a table for 8.30 last night and when we arrived we were told we would have to wait an hour and a half. The pub has had a makeover, which feels a bit cheap and gimmicky and the restaurant area was noisy and crowded like a canteen. We left and had a lovely meal at Cassa Italia across the road, lovely calm ambience and great service.

Lovley place to eat I’ve been several times before but yesterday the food tasted like perfume , I couldn’t eat it an neither could my daughter, I think it was the gravy

Greek pizza delicious. Pleased there are Gluten free options . Very helpful service - a sense that nothing was too much trouble. Knew there would be some waiting time for meals to be served and in between courses as food is cooked fresh and have been to Kings Head before but yesterday’s waiting times beat the record for length!

Lovely service, great atmosphere, but live band alittle loud when you trying to converse. Also waiting time to have a waitress to our table alittle long, and the food whilst tasty was warm.

We added an extra person which was no trouble for them. The food was all amazing & the service was great. A fantastic time was had by all. Definitely recommend the Roast or the SF Chicken Burger!

The service was a little slow but not the fault of the waiters, there was just too much for the two of them to do. The starters were nice but the main courses were very poor. The jambalaya was just a bowl of prawns and chorizo in tomato purée (with the rice separately?), almost too intense to eat. The goats cheese risotto was bland over cooked rice with a lump of goats cheese on the top. The burger and pizza were not the sort of thing you’d expect from a restaurant, quite small and amateur looking. Not what we’ve had from there at all. The pudding was biscoff cheesecake and was out of this world, in a good way. We couldn’t rate it highly enough. Finally they don’t have a wine list so you just have to look at the wine from behind the bar and then proceed to ask how much it is which I’ve never experienced in my life. So total mixed bag. We won’t be eating there again which is such a shame considering what we’ve eaten there before and how nice we know it can be. Maybe they’ve had a change in chef or someone else was on last night.

Good food but even the men thought portion sizes a bit large .Taste of some of veg a bit overpowering i.e. red cabbage.Lamb was delicious. When I tried to book on line I was told the table for 5wasn't available for 2pm.On arrival at 2 there were a number of empty tables which remained empty even til we left at 3.30. Surely you are losing business using this company web site.

Really nice restaurant, on this occasion had a table booked for food, service started off nice polite and courteous. served food and drinks however mid conversation during our meal, plates with a 1/3 of the portion of our meal remaining removed from the table without asking whether we were finished/ok to remove...bill then provided, paid no tip and left. Overall food was fantastic and had a really good evening slightly overshadowed by what felt like urgency to clear the floor which reflected a slight rudeness in service. Would have second thoughts about going back for food....great atmosphere for causal drinks however.
