The Kitchen Restaurant

Not enough gf options for me. Menu had changed on the day we visited so I was expecting the previous menu. I had steak and chips and that's what it was, no trimmings or vegetables. Steak was tender , chips were hard and overcooked, I thought the sauce was meant to be bernaise but I don't know what it was, sort of brown, sweet with pepper corns. Rice pudding was good. No parmesan for anyone's pasta. In the past I've found The Kitchen innovative with an interesting menu. The food a cut above. I used to put The Kitchen in my top places in Inverness to eat, sorry not this time. Will look for other lunchtime venue

Having visited this restaurant many times in the past I was disappointed with this visit. The menu was very limited with no specials on offer. The quality of food was acceptable but the portions were small. My Lemon Sole dish was more like a starter and this is not reflected in the price. When we did get the bill, we were charged for a drink that we did not order. I’m not rushing back!

This may not be an accurate review, since the restaurant was virtually empty at lunchtime. However, the food was outstanding, and the service was way over the top.

We thought the environment was very pleasant and the food was imaginative and creative. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Unfortunately the choice of dairy free options gave me 2 starter options, 1 main and 1 desert. The portion sizes were small and I was sat near the door, so was really cold with people coming in and out. There was no sweetners available with the hot drinks, but the coffee was really good and the desert was delicious. The waitress forgot to give me the desert menu, so I was waiting about 15 mins for this. I wasn't in a rush though, so this was OK.

Ordered Scallops as a starter ...I got ONE Scallop which for some reason had been shredded ?? The rest of the dish was salad on top of the Scallop. Unacceptable small portion sizes .

Kindest waitress led us through a marvelous meal all the while overlooking the River. The bread that came with the lovely mushroom soup bumped any thought of desert but was so darn good. Excellent mains with surprising tastes and textures(I had the Bream). Left full and smiling.

Very attentive service, nice food apart from if I'm paying £22-50 for a 6oz steak I would appreciate proper chips not macdonalds version Everything else perfect

Staff was schizophrenic. Ambiance in the place was terrible. Food was okay but not exceptional. Can’t believe I wasted my time here.

Came in as a couple. My partner's main course was served under cooked. Servers took this away but left mine on the table. 20 minutes later we were still waiting. Partner left and I had to negotiate with the staff. My food was pleasant but certainly not exceptional. Hardly a nice evening for two.

We where on the third floor a table for two with no light over the table so it was dark ,The menu very poor .We had the lentil and ham soup which was burnt then the main course was chicken with lentil and some sort of vegetable the meal was very poor .Very over priced, came out the restaurant still hungry .Would definitely not recommend this restaurant for food.

Good food, good service, good view and nice company joined

We used to go to the Kitchen restaurant for their lunch menus, very well priced and always of good quality. This has changed now to a new concept, with many different snacks, small plates, and large plates. We decided to go for 2 small plates each of us, as the large plates offered a limited choice . The small plates were very good, interesting, and with a lot of flavours. The service is top notch, very professional and guest oriented. The music was good, but too loud for us and we asked to lower it down, we could do without. We felt welcomed, and enjoyed our meal. We will definitely come back.

We had a delightful evening. Our food was delicious and the cute girls who waited in us made the evening even better.

Lovely food, wonderful staff, great experience. Wish we could have tried more dishes of the menu but we were just too full. Will return on my next trip to Inverness to explore the rest of the menu. Wonderful food, elegantly conceived and presented. Young staffers are charming and friendly. They put us on the 4th floor of a muliti-tiered restaurant and the view of the Ness River and Inverness on the other side was quite nice.
