For a restaurant that is supposedly the uk’s best, it was a little underwhelming. I had a north indian garlic chicken dish which was quite bland, no noticeable garlic, spice level was low, the tomato based sauce wasn’t cooked down sufficiently so was watery. The shami kebab starter was a weird meat slab covered in soggy pastry, like a large keema naan. Okra was under cooked, trying to avoid being overcooked it was crunchy but didn’t have much flavour. Naan was good, lemon rice lacking flavour, aubergine tasted good but was oily. Very good riocca wine, good service, good decor, nice people. Just I expected better food really. Must have been a lot of salt used as I woke in the night gasping for water. I hardly use any in my indian cookery.
Wonderful and unique cuisine here. A memorable dining experience. Recommended.
Underwhelming unfortunately. At best average and was £30 a head.mwont be returning in a hurry.

Fabulous meal at The Lane last night. Portions generous, full of flavour, great service and lovely atmosphere
We tried the Tuesday night 5 course menu. Great value for money and good menu options. Tasty food and friendly staff who were happy to help with the menu as we wanted to try new things!
