The Lingmell Inn

The Lingmell Inn beckons to folk in eastern Liverpool as a country tavern of old would’ve appeared to weary travellers: warm, homely and welcoming, with the promise of a roaring fire and replenishing ale inside. Well, the ale is certainly still there, but venture inside this popular pub on Muirhead Avenue East in Tuebrook and you’ll find a much more modern scene. Sleek booths with plush contemporary furniture, revellers dancing under creatively lit stained-glass ceiling features, crowds growling at a football-flashing screen, or a young couple celebrating a special day over grilled halloumi and tempura prawns. In fact, the international and British menu offered by the Lingmell Inn may be just as big a drawcard as its vibrant bar. Open from late morning til late evening for hearty breakfasts, leisurely lunches and indulgent dinners, the Lingmell is undoubtedly still a place to unwind and replenish body and soul.
