In Edinburgh, The Melville is without a doubt one of the best bars in the West End. Near Haymarket, this relaxed and cosy spot serves an array of beers, real ales and cocktails, as well as a pretty enticing selection of bar bites. You can expect quality spirits sourced from premium suppliers as well, which we think go down a treat after you’ve tucked into the Curry of the Week, The Melville Nachos or the Hot Piggy burger topped with pork, chorizo, mature cheddar and salad on a crispy brioche bun. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint or two with pals or settling in for something a little more special, The Melville on William Street has got you sorted. It’s popular though, so book a spot in advance to avoid the queue.
Restaurant and food very good but felt the service was slow. We had finished our mains but although our plates were cleared we were never asked if we wanted anything else and even had to go to the bar to pay, the bar was rather busy with not enough staff. I would go back though.
We were looking for somewhere close to Haymarket to meet friends for lunch. Found the Melville and booked a table for lunch on-line. Lovely staff, good food and a great atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend.
Great service from all the staff and great food at reasonable prices. Would definately recommended a visit. The surroundings are bright and airy our group had a great experience.
