Waited over one hour for the food after being seated. No french mustard for the sirloin steak and the cod was not very good.Although we had booked, guests at other tables, who arrived some time after us, were served before us. They didn't charge us for the drinks after we complained about the delay but we won't be going again.

This is the second visit for lunch here in the last four weeks. The service and food was just as good as the last time. Lovely three course meal- plenty of veg, all very hot, tasty and very well presented. Excellent!

Had to wait 2 hours for meal! Apparently they had a Function on... Had we been informed that we might have a long wait, we could have gone somewhere else. Afterwards the Chef etc apologised and deducted starters off Bill! Food was excellent.. pity about the service though.

Food was good. But why werent the fires lit? We got seated in the restaurant side next to an unlit fire, and moved back into the bar as cold. Also, dim the spot lights.

The pub is lovely with a good selection of real ales and wine. The staff are pleasant and friendly. The food was very good and I would have given a five rating if it were not for the delays in service. For us it was not a problem as we were with friends and catching up but I imagine it would be an issue for others with a 3 hour service for Sunday lunch. Go with the open mindness for a lovely leisurely meal and you will not be disappointed.

Very surprised when we arrived to find out there were only Pizzas on the menu, not even side orders. Got the impression that food was a side-line and a bit of an inconvenience. Food okay, but not the greatest of dining experiences.

Three of us dined at lunchtime. Warm welcome, good food and service. Nothing too much trouble. Nice venue. But! Please keep the 'musak' volume down - which you did at my request (Thank you). 'Music should only enhance and never intrude'. PAW.

Delicious food and great, enthusiastic service. Felt genuinely welcomed. If I had any criticism at all, it is that the portions are too big! A lot of food, so offers value for money. Shame that my eyes are bigger than my belly!

Good food and ambience but service very slow . Would prefer my food on a plate rather than a wooden board. The carol singers were a nice festive bonus

Excellent food. Unfortunately, the steaks arrived on wooden boards but, when we requested plates, the food was removed without fuss and returned on hot plates.

Great food. Decor needs a lick of paint and a Hoover round when people leave table as the table next to us had crumbs all round it. But we did have a good time

Good quality food with novel presentation. Service was good and the atmosphere is rustic. Overall experience a pleasant evening out with friends, although car parking is limited.
