The Ilkley Cow

The food was fantastic. Well worth the money. It was fresh and hit off the grill. Drinks and food both served with very little wait and staff were friendly and helpful. Loos were also nice and clean. Will definitely go again and recommend.

A good night with really excellent steaks, very good bitter. Couple of other points, when we arrived we received a. Dry warm welcome but the guy said "Verity, table for 4, we'll need it back by 9" but they didn't!! We left at 9.40 with a few empty tables by then. Why trouble your guests, put them on edge, by implying this? Also if "Cow" is in your name and meat is your thing, put a board up with the provenence of the meat, which farm etc. Lastly my chicken bite starter was a bit mean, missing 2 or 3 bites. But overall, good and we will return.

We enjoyed our dinner at the Moody Cow; the food was pretty good, a tremendous-sized portion for the mixed grill and delicious black pudding starter.

Good variation of meals on the menu to suit all Value for money .Staff attentive and service good Would definitely go back again in the future

Great food and on the whole pleasant service...very tasty roasts and burgers. Steak knives for all dishes would be a great help though... Only slight issue with starter that never showed up until sometime after the rest...

I'm a bit disappointed in moody cow. I went over a year ago and the food was great, maybe they have a new chef, but everything tasted a bit bland. Scotch egg starter was horrendous. I tried it last year and tasted amazing, this year new ingredients and no flavour. Disappointed and over priced.

Excellent service, food and staff! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the service was great, looked after well and the food was outstanding!

Superb steak deal. Extensive menu. Spot on cooking. Excellent service. Pretty busy for a Thursday winter night in Ilkley. Deserves to succeed long term. Wine not the best but what do you expect with two steaks and a bottle for £29.

We were seated on time and the service was very good. Very attentive staff. We ordered the chicken Kiev and it was really tasty. My only criticism would be that the food could have been drained of oil a bit better. Overall though, an enjoyable meal.

The meal was fabulous we ordered well done steak and it was cooked just right. The service was good plesant and friendly. Had a lovely time.

Service was very good & attentive. All 3 people enjoy each of their courses, the food was great, well presented, hot & exceptional taste. Sea bass dish was best I've ever had. We will defiantly be back.

The Moody Cow had a very nice ambience inside and the staff were lovely! The food was very tasty. We recommend the Calamari and the Yorkshire Chorizo for starters. They were both amazing. The mains were great too. Overall a good dining experience and we would visit again.

Starter wasn't great prawns lettuce and Marie Rose sauce shoved in a jar basically; steak though was amazingly nice ; staff lovely but kept having to be reminded of orders; our mains came but they forgot the sides ; so although it was lovely the overall experience was not great.

2 courses for £10 was great quality the dishes were very tasty and good portions. All staff were friendly and service very prompt. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Nice atmosphere and good food. Had the Sunday lunch special menu, good value and choice. Could have done with steak knives to cut the very crispy roast potatoes.

Our first visit Poor service and food was average prawn cocktail tasteless same for the pate my husband and I had a burger which was a clump of meat not at all tender so disappointing

We booked the Moody Cow in Ilkey for Sunday Dinner withe the family. We had noticed the restaurant before but not visit and booked based on reviews. The welcome was warm and we were seated quickly and coats taken for us. The service was attentive and not over bearing. The manager was friendly and said hello. He said that he thought it was the best Sunday lunch in Ilkley. I can't comment on the offereings in ilkley but this was one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had. very resonable pricing and the roast beef was cooked pink and was perfect. We'll return again. All six of us agreed the food was fantastic.

The food at The Moody Cow is fantastic. The steak is truly to die for! The downside to our experience on this occasion was down to the waitress taking our order not fully understanding the menu, new member of staff so understandable, however in my opinion a new member of staff shouldn't be taking orders unsupervised. However it's not going to stop us returning, absolutely love the place. It's worth it!

Always amazing food here, and the service was 10/10! The ultimate nachos are the best nachos I've ever had. And so glad the buttermilk chicken pieces have returned! Probably my favourite restaraunt around here :) x

Everything was tip top, staff friendly, helpful, lovely people. Food superb, our party of 4 had differant starters and mains all presented beautifully, all piping hot. Will definitely return. Would recommend with no hesitation.

Greeted with a lovely smile :-) and given a choice of tables which was nice. really clean and lots of space between tables The menu was extensive with a great choice of starters and mains. we had three course and all the food was well presented and very tasty too. Service was excellent, we were well looked without been hassled. Great for a special occasion but we did think it was a little expensive.

Food was stunning. Best meal we have ever had! Definitely will be back. Mac and cheese with brisket was to die for. MacAnd the staff were lovely.

Excellent food service location etc . The atmosphere is very relaxed and the furnishings super comfy . We felt the menu had a good variety of choices and we will return.

Food was good and pretty decent value, nice surroundings and a good atmosphere. Let down only by service which was a bit sloppy, some of the younger members of staff were more interested in chatting than serving and we waited an age to order. However we would be happy to give it another go.

A little disappointed as I've eaten at Moody Cow Apperley Bridge and preferred the way the slow cooked brisket was served, no Veg & more expensive in ilkley. Also way too many onions. But the beef was lovely. Will go again but order something different. The staff were very polite & friendly. Would recommend to others.

We enjoyed our meal and staff coped well with more than one power cut. Happy to return at a future date. Children's portions more like adult ones.

We were well looked after and the food was plentiful and excellent.Unfortunately the steak for 2 dinner wasn't available in December and this wasn't mentioned on the website.

Love this place great staff, lovely atmosphere and lots of choice on the menu to keep you going back. Loved the mulled wine (chef has his own recipe)!

Good food and good service. Tuna and burgers very nice, starters even better, scotch eggs and French onion soup. Waiting staff very nice and attentive.

Excellent service and food for my first visit here, I will definitely be back 😊. It was so lovely to be well looked after such nice decor.

Starter of salt & pepper chicken was very tasty & would recommend. Had steak for main which wasn't cooked to how I asked but when we asked about it the staff were very apologetic & sorted it straight away. Very noisy. It was bound to be on a Friday night, if wanting a romantic meal where you can actually hear each other, I'd imagine mid week is better!

Lovely meal and warm reception by the staff as always! No more meals today after a very good lunch with amazing burgers, try "the pit burger" great choice

Fantastic service and great food. Very large portions and good quality for the money. The wine was also delicious and I went home having eaten far too much! Fab night.

The service was fantastic & the staff were attentive but not hovering. You could not fault the food cooked to perfection. We never felt rushed & the food came at a leisurely pace. We are looking at booking again soon.

Service was great but food a nit dissapointing tonight , burger was very dry and had to send the sauce back twice as was very very watery but rest was lovely , lovely atmosphere.

Atmosphere was good, service was good, food was OK but I felt a little overpriced for what you get. Would go back but not in a hurry.

Steak was tough, wine overpriced, nothing special overall! Wouldn't go there again nor would I recommend it to others. Much nicer food (at better value) elsewhere

Very attentive, friendly and helpful staff (f not all the most experienced). Their enthusiasm was charming. 8 of us all had the Christmas meal which was nicely presented and largely tasty. All in all a successful night out and we'll undoubtedly repeat.
